0 Fierce Defense Gondor
Event • Skirmish
Exert 2 Gondor Men to wound each minion assigned to skirmish those Men.
“Boromir and Aragorn slew many. When thirteen had fallen the rest fled shrieking....”

Like it.

0 Sharp Affray Gondor
Event • Archery or Skirmish
Exert a Gondor Man and an Elf to make each Orc and Uruk-hai strength -1 until the regroup phase.
Legolas and Aragorn felled many goblins with their bows before they ever broke through.

I’d just say ’minion’ and be done with it. Two exertions is a high cost for a card that does nothing against men or nazgul.

0 Let’s Hunt Some Orc Gondor
Event • Maneuver
Exert a Gondor Man and a Dwarf to make each of them damage +1 until the regroup phase.
“‘We must follow the Orcs, if there is hope that any of our Company are living prisoners.’”

Great!

1 Hold True to Each Other Gondor
Event • Skirmish
Spot a Gondor Man to make that Man, a Dwarf, or an Elf strength +1 for each Hobbit you spot (limit +5).
“‘We will not abandon Merry and Pippin to torment and death. Not while we have strength left.’”

I think the limit is a little obsolete. If you’re going to have a Man, Elf and Dwarf you won’t want that many Hobbits. Lower it so that it matters, or remove it entirely. Possibly, you should make it at the beginning ’To play, spot a Gondor man and either an Elf or a Dwarf.’ Then ’Make one of those companions...’

2 He Cannot Stand Alone! Gondor
Event • Skirmish
Choose one: exert a Gondor Man not assigned to a skirmish to make a companion (except the Ring-bearer) strength +3; or exert 2 Gondor Men not assigned to skirmishes to make a companion (except the Ring-bearer) strength +5.
“‘Elendil!’ he shouted. ‘I am with you, Gandalf!’ `Gondor!’ cried Boromir and leaped after him.’”

I like this one, but I think I’d remove the Ring-bearer bit from one of the abilities.

Thanks for the reviews, guys. Made a couple tweaks. Thumbs Up

Here’s a couple events focused on Boromir. Enjoy!

2 Fought Bravely Gondor
Event • Response
Toil 1.
If your Man companion was just placed in the dead pile, each companion of that culture is strength +2 until the regroup phase.
“‘You have kept your honor....be at peace, son of Gondor.’”

1 Mighty Horn-call Gondor
Event • Skirmish
Toil 1.
Spot Boromir (or a Gondor companion bearing a horn) to make another companion strength +2 (or +3 if at a battleground). If that companion wins his or her skirmish, you may place this event on the bottom of your draw deck.
“Then suddenly with a deep-throated call a great horn blew, and the blasts of it smote the hills and echoed in the hollows, rising in a mighty shout above the roaring of the falls.”

2The Departure of Boromir Gondor
Condition • Support Area
Tale.
While you can spot a unique Gondor companion in the dead pile, each Gondor companion with resistance 4 or more is strength +1.
“‘Beneath Amon Hen I heard his cry. There many foes he fought. His cloven shield, his broken sword, they to the water brought. His head so proud, his face so fair, his limbs they laid to rest; and Rauros, golden Rauros-falls, bore him upon its breast.’”

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

Cool but cant see it being used much. Bit of a risk putting it in your deck hoping someone dies!
Or do you prefer this lore:
“‘No! You have conquered. Few have gained such a victory. Be at peace! Minas Tirith shall not fall!’”

Nah first is better.

0 Mighty Horn-call Gondor
Event • Skirmish
Exert Boromir (or a Gondor companion bearing a horn) to make another companion strength +2 (or +3 if at a battleground).

Make it "spot boromir or...". Exert for +2 isnt that good.

But it fits so well with the story! Razz

I’ll wait on one more review before changing it, though if I do, I think I’d up the cost to 1. I HAVE tweaked the first card a bit, though, and it may be a little more useful, especially in combo with cards like Saved From the Fire and Away on the Wind, while still doing (I think) what it did before, as well. Very Happy

I like the first lore better.
I really like the idea of the card, but maybe a bit too restricted to be really useful.

I actually like it, although I agree an exertion for +2 isn’t too good. Perhaps the event could cost 2 with toil 2? Or have it be +3, and +4 at a battleground.

Nice cards!

I would drop the cost to 0, and I’d stick with the first lore. Thumbs Up

On Fought Bravely, I’d bring the cost to back up to 2 and give it toil 1. Thumbs Up

This is amazing in saved from the fire! Interesting, but I’m not sure it would make many decks, the hand-clog is a bit too annoying.

Very nice, but you know what I’m going to say about the brackets: take out the first lot. Razz

I added one more card to the last posting, and it will probably be the last from me today. I’m now off to pick up our new puppy at the airport and spend the evening with her and my wife. Smile Tomorrow around lunchtime I should be able to get back on for a little bit. Ya’ll be good until then, ya hear? Razz

Between these and all the FPCA contests I’ve started, you should have plenty to keep you busy. Very Happy
