Here’s another card for Galadriel that I meant to post last time, but forgot about.
 • Nenya, Ring of Water
Artifact • Ring
Vitality +1
Bearer must be Galadriel.
Each time the fellowship moves to a river, you may exert Galadriel twice and discard a card from hand to heal each companion with resistance 7 or more.
Maneuver: Place an card from hand on top of your draw deck and add (X) to heal X Elf allies whose home is any site 6. Discard this artifact.
“...it glittered like polished gold overlaid with silver light, and a white stone in it twinkled as if the Even-star had come down to rest upon her hand.”
cool!
 • Haldir, Guide of Northern Lórien
Companion • Elf
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Signet: Elrond
To play, spot an Elf.
Haldir is strength +1 for each of the following the fellowship is at: forest, river, sanctuary.
Fellowship: Exert Haldir to play an Elf ally whose home is any site 6 from your draw deck.
“‘You do not look evil! And since you come with an Elf of our kindred, we are willing to befriend you, as Elrond asked; though it is not our custom to lead strangers through our land.’”
add dwelling.
 • Rúmil, Marchwarden of the Nimrodel
Companion • Elf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
While the fellowship is at a sanctuary, Rúmil is strength +1.
While the fellowship is at a river site and you can spot an Elf ally or follower, Rúmil is an archer.
“Rúmil, who had remained on the other side, drew back the last one, slung it on his shoulder, and with a wave of his hand went away, back to Nimrodel to keep watch.”
cool! make the first ability +2
 • Orophin, Border-Guard of Lórien
Companion • Elf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
While the fellowship is at a sanctuary, Orophin gains hunter 1.
While the fellowship is at a forest site and you can spot an Elf ally or follower, Orophin is an archer.
“‘Orophin has now gone in haste back to our dwellings to warn our people. None of the Orcs will ever return out of Lórien.’”

Sorry, SoP, but I disagree. I think Haldir would be TOO good if I added "dwelling", and I don’t want to replace any of the current ones with dwelling, because right now he’s themed with Rúmil and Orophin.
Speaking of those two, I also think THEY’D be too good if they got stength +2 or hunter 2 with their abilities, now that I think about it, since they’re also pretty easily archers. |

I was about to suggest a wording change, but then I realized it was worded that way so that if the fellowship was at any TWO of these, Haldir would get strength +2. Or, if you’re lucky, +3 (if there are any river/forests...) The fellowship ability is good too.

Sticking with Lothlórien for the time being, here’s a trio of allies simple allies, but remember, you can pull them easily with Haldir and pump them up and/or heal them with Galadriel, Celeborn, and The Mirror of Galadriel, Reflector of Elf-magic. Enjoy!
•Amrion, Lórien Watchman
Ally • Home 6 • Elf
Strength: 4
Vitality: 3
Archer.
Archery: Exert Amrion to wound a minion.
“A head appeared suddenly through the hole in the flet. Frodo sat up in alarm and saw that it was a grey-hooded Elf. He looked towards the hobbits....`Yrch!’ said the Elf in a hissing whisper, and cast on to the flet the rope-ladder rolled up.”
This guy is done in the same vein as the original Rúmil and Orophin, which we all know are AWESOME allies.
•Legandir, Elf of Lórien
Ally • Home 6 • Elf
Strength: 3
Vitality: 3
Fellowship or Maneuver: Exert Legandir twice (or discard him) to play an ally whose home is any site 6 from your draw deck or discard pile.
“Three small gray boats had been made ready for the travellers, and in these the Elves stowed their goods.”
•Amanthon, Elf of Lórien
Ally • Home 6 • Elf
Strength: 3
Vitality: 2
Maneuver or Regroup: Discard Amanthon to play an possession from your draw deck or discard pile.

Sweet. Maybe you should make an event or condition that can pull these allies back from the discard pile. |

A good idea. I can’t remember if I have already or not (too lazy to check ), but if I haven’t, I will.

SoP, a ’flet’, I believe, is a platform that the Elves of Lorien live on high up in the trees. ’Flet’ is its pseudo-English name, the Elvish is ’Telan’. Nice, but didn’t the original haldir and orophin have strength 3? Plus, I object very strongly to making up names, but that’s hardly here or there.

Just make it an ally with home 6, this guy shouldn’t play Galadriel or Celeborn if they’re not living in his homeland.

Made that recommended change to Legandir, Thranduil. And yes, Amarion has 4 strength rather than the "typical" 3, but I did that because minions generally aren’t as common as what the original 3/3 archer allies targeted.
Anyways, this time we move back to Rivendell, and have a couple more "what-if" companions from the Council of Elrond. For each of them, I kept their abilities close to what their original versions did, because they were pretty cool abilities. Enjoy!
•Galdor, Messenger of the Havens
Companion • Elf
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 7
To play, spot an Elf.
Each time the fellowship moves to a dwelling or river site, you may exert Galdor to return a minion to its owner’s hand (or discard that minion if it is roaming).
“‘And yet we see that Sauron can torture and destroy the very hills. What power still remains lies with us, here in Imladris, or with Cirdan at the Havens, or in Lórien. But have they the strength, have we here the strength to withstand the Enemy, the coming of Sauron at the last, when all else is overthrown?’”
•Golradir, Rivendell Councilor
Companion • Elf
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
Hunter 1. To play, spot an Elf.
Skirmish: Exert Golradir to make a minion skirmishing an Elf strength -1 (or -2 if that minion is roaming).
“Beside Glorfindel there were several other counsellors of Elrond’s household....” |
