Suppose a possession had this text: Skirmish: Place bearer in the dead pile to transfer this possession to another eligible bearer.

I know that when a companion is placed in the dead pile, all of the cards borne by him or her are discarded. But in this case, though, would the text of the possession override that ruling and allow the possession to be "saved" and tossed on another eligible bearer?
I had to put something here.

does any card exist that has this text? I am missing why you are asking this but card text overrules the rules I think.

No card exists with the text, but I’m still interested in finding the answer. Thumbs Up

To avoid that situation, it would be worded as something like

"Transfer this possession to another eligable bearer. Place the previous bearer in the dead pile."

When I came to Abraham I let him live just a moment longer. When I came to Moses I saved his life more than once. But the salmon... I regret to say I had a hand in its death.

I don’t see why we need to ask questions about confusing cards that don’t even exist..we have enough issues with these crazy T&D cards...

A similar question would be if an Exhausted Saruman bearing Staff of Saruman, Fallen Istar’s Stave would return to Shadow players hand before he’s discarded since it says to discard the staff before you return Saruman to hand.
