2. Slang. to talk shrilly, noisily, or foolishly.
But that’s enough spam for the topic. If AP wants to give a 4-day extension, that’s his business. Just get off my back SoP, that’s all I ask.

I’m sure that if your DCing partner was unresponsive (as m64 is to NB) then you would request an extention of the submittal deadline.
By the way, NB, you and menace still have till Thursday to submit your cards. If he doesn’t respond, then go ahead and send me both cards yourself. |
I had to put something here. |

Two more days.... |
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones
Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

The moment has come… the dream cards have been received, and the tension has escalated to a fever pitch.
Team A (EL and WLC)
•Denethor, Disillusioned Ruler
Companion • Man
Strength: 8
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 5
To play, spot a follower (or 2 companions).
When you play Denethor, you may play a follower or a companion from your discard pile or draw deck.
When your companion is placed in your dead pile, discard all followers from play, then remove all followers in your discard pile from the game.
“And I shall not forget it. Nor fail to reward that which is given. Fealty with love, valor with honor, disloyalty with vengeance.”
•Horn of Boromir, The Cloven Horn
Possession
Resistance: +1
Bearer must be Boromir or Denethor.
If bearer is Boromir, he is strength +1 for each follower attached to a companion.
Skirmish: If bearer is Denether, discard a follower to make him strength +3 and damage +1.
’I have received this,’ said Denethor, and laying down his rod he lifted from his lap the thing that he had been gazing at. In each hand he held up one half of a great horn cloven through the middle: a wild-ox horn bound with silver.
versus Team B (KiE and FM)
•Denethor, Mad with Grief
Companion • Man
Strength: 8
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 5
Denethor is resistance -1 for each minion you can spot.
At the end of any phase, if Denethor has resistance 0, place him in the dead pile.
If Denethor is placed in the dead pile, you may spot X minions to remove a total of X burdens and/or threats.
Assignment: Exert Denethor to assign a minion to a man.
Designer’s notes: Alright, now before my sanity in designing a card like this, let me explain why I gave this character the abilities he has.
First off, in the book and the movies, Denethor was not only driven mad by the death of Boromir and the apparent death of Faramir, but by the overwhelming numbers of Sauron’s forces. In game terms, sanity would translate into resistance. That’s where Denethor’s first line of game text comes in.
Secondly, when Denethor finally reached the point where he was totally mad (resistance 0), he tried to commit suicide and murder Faramir. This is where the second line of his text comes in.
Next, as Denethor was slowly driven mad by Boromir’s death and by despair at Sauron’s forces, his ability to make good decisions lessened and he started to make some bad ones, like in the movie sending Faramir and his troop against an overwhelming force of orcs. In the game, this results in being able to assign more minions to a gondor man. This is where the third line of his text comes in.
The last line of his text we already discussed. I made it a response action so that you could remove the threats before they would get assigned. I made it for each minion you could spot to tie in with the first part of Denethor’s text in the same way gondor possessions tie in on Denethor, Last Ruling Steward’s text.
•Steward’s Ring
Artifact • Ring
Strength: +1
Vitality: +1
If any card would lower Denethor’s resistance below 1, it reduces it to 1 instead.
If Faramir is in the dead pile, discard this artifact.
While Boromir is in the dead pile, Denethor is strength +2 and damage +1.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Team C (SoP and lem0n)
• Boromir’s Horn, Cloven Heirloom
Artifact • Horn
Bearer must be Denethor.
Each time a companion is placed in the dead pile you may discard a minion (and heal a companion twice if that companion was Faramir or Boromir).
"Perhaps you’ve come to explain this. Perhaps you’ve come to tell me why my son is dead"
• Denethor, Bereaved Father
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Res: 5
While you can spot Boromir, Denethor is twilight cost -1 and strength +1.
Skirmish: If Denethor is skirmishing a minion, exert him and place a companion in the dead pile to make him strength +X where X is the number of artifacts you can spot (limit +4). If Denethor wins that skirmish, you may remove that companion from the game.
"Lord Denethor is Boromir’s father. To give him news of his beloved son’s death would be most unwise".
versus Team D (CG and AC)
•Denethor, Commanding Steward
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 5
While Denethor has resistance 0, each companion is strength -2.
At the start of each maneuver phase, you may add 2 burdens to play a possession or artifact from your draw deck or discard pile.
"’Denethor is of another sort, proud and subtle, a man of far greater lineage and power, though he is not called a king.’"
•Stewards’ Ring
Artifact • Ring
Resistance +2
Bearer must be Denethor.
Each time you play a possession or artifact, you may exert Denethor to make the first Shadow player exhaust an unwounded minion.
"’...fealty with love, valour with honour, oath-breaking with vengeance.’"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Team E (LH and AP)
• Denethor, Son of Ecthelion
Companion • Man
Strength: 8
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 5
To play, spot a Man.
Muster. Each time you play a artifact, you may exert Denethor to shuffle a card from your discard pile into your draw deck.
At the start of the regroup phase, you may remove 2 tokens to choose one: draw 2 cards or remove .
”’…I will not forget it, nor fail to reward that which is given….’”
• Denethor’s Ring
Artifact • Ring
Resistance +1
Bearer must be Denethor.
When you play this artifact, you may reinforce a token (and heal a companion if you can spot a threat).
Response: If a condition is about to be discarded, discard this artifact to prevent that (and exert a minion if you can spot Boromir).
”’Yea,’ he said; ‘for though the Stones be lost, they say, still the lords of Gondor have keener sight than lesser men….’”
versus Team F (m64 and NB)
•Denethor, Son of Ecthelion
Companion • Man
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 4
When you play Denethor (except from your starting fellowship), you may play a Gondor possession or artifact that costs or less from your draw deck on one of the following: Boromir, Faramir, Denethor.
At the start of the assignment phase, you may discard a Gondor card borne by Denethor to make Boromir or Faramir defender +1 until the regroup phase.
"Hail Denethor, Son of Ecthelion, Lord and Steward of Gondor!"
•White Rod of The Stewards, Broken Heirloom
Artifact • Staff
Vitality: +1
Resistance: -2
Bearer must be Boromir, Faramir, or Denethor.
When bearer is placed in the dead pile, you may discard a minion for each of the following you spot: Boromir, Faramir, Denethor.
Skirmish: Discard a card borne by bearer to make a Gondor companion damage +1 (or damage +2 if bearer is defender +1).
Then Denethor leaped upon the table, and standing there wreathed in fire and smoke he took up the staff of his stewardship that lay at his feet and broke it on his knee.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Team G (BoQ and Daín)
•Denethor, Son of Ecthelion
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 5
While you can spot Boromir, Denethor is resistance +2.
Skirmish: Exert Denethor to make Boromir gain hunter 1 until the regroup phase.
Response: If Faramir is about to take a wound, exert Denethor to prevent that wound.
“‘Boromir was loyal to me....’”
•Steward’s Ring
Artifact • Ring
Bearer must be Denethor.
At the start of each fellowship phase, you may add a threat or discard this artifact to make a Man strength +2 (or +3 if that Man is Boromir or Faramir) and resistance -1 until the regroup phase.
“Denethor looked indeed much more like a great wizard than Gandalf did, more kingly, beautiful, and powerful; and older.”
versus Team H (mmd and I55)
•Denethor, Corrupted Steward
Minion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Site: 3
Denethor may not be assigned to a skirmish.
Each wounded unbound companion skirmishing a minion is resistance -1.
Each time a companion is killed, heal Denethor.
Shadow: If Denethor is in your hand, remove to return a companion titled Denethor and all Free Peoples cards borne by him to his owner’s hand.
Skirmish: Exert Denethor to make a companion with resistance 4 or less strength -1.
•Denethor’s Sword, Vile Weapon
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be Denethor.
Skirmish: Exert Denethor to wound a companion with resistance 5 or less.
Regroup: Exert Denethor and add a threat to exhaust a Knight.

Team C (no real reason, just liked the cards a bit more, but tough call)
Team E (team F’s wording is a bit clunky and needs working)
Team H (both teams’ abilities lack flavor A LOT, so I’m going with team H for boldness!) |
I don't like YOU. |
