Wow, three reviews in less than a day...

For Shelob: I think having Enduring makes perfect sense for her, so I’ll just drop strength to 8...
I was also thinking partially on Bombadil when makig her.
As for home site, it would be close enough to be site 8, but I wasn’t sure about having her able to fight freely just before you go into site 9...
And no, it doesn’t help if she’s killed, but it is a very strong counter to ally hate.


For Strung Webs, I actually intended it to be like it says. The idea is that they’re actually with Shelob, rather than the fellowship. This also gives me a freer range in making underground site 9s.
I could see the change in cost, though...

And, as it indicates a different location of minions, having the ability to allow her to skirmish fits in the assignment ability. Thus if no one is there, she can’t fight them.
And yes, it makes the minions able to choose whether to assign Shelob or not (except at her home site. There, they just decide who.)


For Lesser Broods: I think discarding it with the Shadow ability makes sense with my Gollum followers. Either they help Shelob by spreading webs and helping her fight, or they get a more specific one.
And yes, healing is odd for an enduring character, but it is a fairly simple way to heal an ally, with an additional bonus (in the cost) which allows her to use her regroup ability more.


Now, to finish up the fellowship side, Gollum followers:


2 •Spider Brood Gollum
Follower
+1 Strength
Aid - 1. If you can spot Shelob, Spider Brood’s twilight cost is -2.
When you transfer Spider Brood to a companion (except a Gollum companion), exert that companion.
Each minion skirmishing bearer’s site number is +2.

+1 Resistance
Aid - 1. If you can spot Shelob, this follower’s twilight cost is -2.
When you transfer this follower to a companion (except a Gollum companion), exert that companion.

Apparantly I hadn’t changed them... but now for the minions of Gollum...

This is one of the ancient cultures, featuring the Hobbit Smeagol once was. And this post will reveal the each minion available for a pure Gollum deck (in this set).

2 •Smeagol, Inquisitive Halfling Gollum
Minion • Hobbit
5 Strength
4 Vitality
2 Site Number
While Smeagol is assigned to skirmish the Ring-bearer, each other minion may not be overwhelmed unless his strength is tripled.
Maneuver: Exert Smeagol to search your deck for a Gollum condition and take it into hand. You may discard that card to take a Gollum card from your discard pile into your hand.
"’He was interested in roots and beginnings; he dived into deep pools.’"

Smeagol has a sharp mind, always learning, and was curious about the ring. He can help either side learn how to work better by getting conditions quickly. Or, you can use long-term plans to get cards to help survive the site.

1 •Deagol, Sharp-eyed Gollum
Minion • Hobbit
4 Strength
4 Vitality
2 Site Number
When you play Deagol, search your deck for a Gollum card for each burden you spot. Shuffle the rest of your deck, then place each of those cards on top of your deck in any order.
"’He had a friend called Deagol, of similar sort, sharper-eyed but not so quick and strong.’"

Rather than the mind of Smeagol, always searching, Deagol allows you to notice things that would go unnoticed. It gets to a whole new level in a pure Gollum deck, but you still can be thrown off if the fellowship moves and you’ve set up for your next move, or you set up a minion kill and they stay.

3 •Grandmother, Stern Halfling Gollum
Minion • Hobbit
4 Strength
3 Vitality
2 Site Number
Grandmother is strength +1 for each other Gollum minion in her skirmish.
Response: If Smeagol (or Deagol) is assigned to a skirmish, exert Grandmother to assign her to his skirmish.

The leader of the family, she helps protect them when needed. In an attempt at getting around a rule that’s been around forever, with only Grandmother/Smeagol (or Grandmother/Deagol), you can swarm one opponent. It is limited, in the fact that either you need something to allow you to assign them to a companion, or they get to pick who to assign the minions to.

2 River Halfling Gollum
Minion • Hobbit
4 Strength
3 Vitality
2 Site Number
While at a river site, this minion’s twilight cost is -1.
Skirmish: Exert this minion to add a burden. If skirmishing a Gollum companion, your opponent may discard 2 Gollum cards from hand to prevent this. Discard this minion.

To continue with Smeagol’s advancements, there are a few things that will help them throughout the game.

Some are a general basic boost...

2 •Ancient Halflings Gollum
Condition • Support Area
To play, spot a Gollum Hobbit.
Each Gollum minion is strength +2.

Others help by hurting your opponent...

1 Fishermen Gollum
Condition • Support Area
When you play this condition, you may spot Smeagol (or Deagol) to add 2 Gollum tokens here.
Shadow: Remove 2 Gollum tokens from here or discard this condition to look at your opponent’s hand and discard an event or condition from it.

Some don’t technically do anything...

1 Shone and Glittered Gollum
Condition • Support Area
Each other companion (except the Ring-bearer) of the same culture as bearer is resistance -2.
Skirmish: Transfer this condition to a companion skirmishing a Gollum minion.

0 Tortures Unknown Gollum
Condition • Support Area
At the end of your Shadow phase, exert your Gollum Hobbit or discard this condition.
While you can spot a Sauron companion, each Gollum Hobbit is strength +1.
While you can spot a Wraith companion, each Gollum Hobbit is vitality +1.
While you can spot a Gollum companion, each Gollum Hobbit gains lurker.

I’m not quite sure what needs to be said about them just yet. I’d like tortures Unknown to be non-unique, but I realize that the cost would probably need to go up (probably alternate costs as well), but I’d like to see some suggestions as to how to cost it...

Not Grandmother? A 3-cost +5 pump for Smeagol or Deagol that can be pumped?

For 5 twilight you get 10 strength against a single companion (Smeagol + Grandmother)
Each Tortures Unknown boosts it by +2 for no twilight if there is a Sauron companion (even better with Wraiths).
Ancient Halflings boosts them by +4 for 2 twilight.


Now for the remainder of the Gollum cards. Much like Ninja Gollum, Smeagol gets some similar tricks:

1 Desire for the Precious Gollum
Event • Shadow
Add a threat to play Smeagol from your discard pile.

3 Distant Connection Gollum
Event • Shadow
Choose one: You may treat Gollum cards as Shire cards until the end of the turn or you may treat Shire cards as Gollum cards until the end of the turn.

1 My Love Gollum
Event • Maneuver
Exert Smeagol (or Gollum) and remove a threat to add a burden.

3 Spotted Gollum
Event • Maneuver or Skirmish

discard pile, make it a card(except a companion) that is a major NPE, but I just realized it is really to good. you can see your opponents entire draw deck. make it hand IMO
