I’ll make some cost changes on those cards.

Don’t ask me what the "Trigrams" are all about, ask the makers of Naruto, but hopefully the "Palms" part became clear to you.

Actually, here’s a picture of what the technique looks like. Maybe that’ll explain the "Trigrams" better than anything I could say.

Loved the progressing "Ouch"es, Dain.

Yes, Ouch is what this deck is about.

But remember: You have to get, play, and remove the cards in order. And if you manage to do it once, to do it again you have to play an entire new set of the cards. But the point is, you should only have to do it once to secure a victory.

And yes, on Gentle Fist, the first "Eight Trigrams" card comes from your hand. I’ll make sure that’s clear on the card.

Eight Trigrams Heavenly Spin [Konoha]
Event * Response
Jutsu.
Chakra Cost-Discard a card from hand.
If a character with Byakugan is about to take a wound, prevent all wounds to that character until the regroup phase.
"Hakkesho Kaiten!"

Protection of the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms [Konoha]
Event * Skirmish
Jutsu.
Chakra Cost-Discard a card from hand.
When you play this card, select a companion (except the Ring-Bearer) and a minion. Each time the selected companion is about to take a wound, wound the selected minion instead.
"Naruto, leave this to me!"

Eight Trigrams Empty Palm [Konoha]
Event * Skirmish
Jutsu.
Chakra Cost-Discard a jutsu from hand.
Cancel a skirmish involving a character with Byakugan.
"Get away from me!"

The last two needed little explaination, with the pics. But this might. This jutsu expels a burst of chakra from the user’s palm, pushing the target backward. Obvious skirmish canceller.

So, what do you all think? GP to reviewers.

I assume "pay" is supposed to be "play". This is a very, very interesting card. Not sure if it’s properly costed or not. But I DO like it. Perhaps prevent the "Ring-bearer" from being that companion?

SoP, a Chakra Cost is an extra cost you have to pay to play the card.

That’s what I figured.

Will "chakra" or "chakra cost" be referenced by other cards?

Maybe. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be a point to having Chakra Cost, I could just say, "Discard X cards to..."

I’m thinking certain "Rings" or companions will have ways of stopping chakra costs. And the concept of Chakra will be reflected in many future cards, I’m sure. In a minute, I’ll edit this post with the last (maybe) few cards.

EDIT: Okay, now that we have our jutsus and NPE cards, I’ll move on to the last few.

Time of Peace [Konoha]
Event * Fellowship
Spot a companion with Byakugan to heal each companion with resistance 4 or more.
"I thought we had come to a time of peace in Konoha."

Now, this may seem like a rip-off of some certain LotR cards, and in a sense it is, but I feel it fits here. Konoha has not seen peace in a long time, but when it comes, it’s a great relief. However, as the enemies start in again (and burdens start piling up), the time of peace obviously ends (and the card becomes useless).

Body Reading [Konoha]
Condition * Support Area
To play, spot two characters with Byakugan.
When you play this condition, add 3 [Konoha] tokens here.
Response: If an opponent draws a card, remove a token from here to make them reveal that card.
Maneuver: Remove a token from here to reveal the top card of an opponent’s draw deck.
"I can tell by the way you’re standing that you’re extremely nervous. You’re also putting your hand out from your body. This shows that you want something between me and you. Finally, I can see in your eyes that you have come to the same conclusion I have. Forfeit, now. We both know you’re going to lose."

This isn’t a terribly awesome card, but it can be helpful to see what’s coming, or know if the top card is something you want to be discarding.

Loser [Konoha]
Event * Maneuver
Exert a character with Byakugan to make a minion lose all keywords and be unable to gain keywords until the regroup phase.
"You are a loser. You will always be a loser, because that’s what a loser is. A loser. There is nothing else a loser can be but a loser. The fact that you are a loser has already been decided, and when something is decided it cannot be changed because it is decided!"

I love this card, mostly because of the lore. And no, Neji didn’t actually say that. But it basically sums up a lot of stuff he says. Very Happy

A Most Ancient and Deadly Technique [Konoha]
Event * Skirmish
Make a character with Byakugan strength +2 (or strength +4 if you can spot Gentle Fist Style).
The Jyuuken has been passed down, from generation to generation, for centuries.

We need at least two different skirmish events, here.

And I think that’s all for the Hyugas, for now. Reviews?
