Sauron may not take wounds during the archery phase and may not be assigned to a skirmish.
When you play Sauron, you may take control of a site.
At the start of each skirmish involving a or minion (except Spiders), you may exert Sauron twice to make that minion strength +X, where X is the number of burdens or threats you can spot.
“‘...even you, Bilbo, won’t need me to tell you tales of that black sorcerer.’”
I would put a limit on the skirmish ability, like +4. Neat revamp! |
I had to put something here. |

Dáin’s DC Duos #162
Well, further comments on the new and improved (?) Sauron are most appreciated, but I’m itching to move forward. So here’s the other Nazgûl. Enjoy!
•Úlairë Cantëa, Keeper of Dol Guldur
Minion • Nazgûl
Strength: 10
Vitality: 3
Site: 3
Fierce. Hunter 1.
When you play Úlairë Cantëa, you may add a threat for each companion with resistance 4 or less.
Each time a Nazgûl wins a skirmish, you may remove a threat to discard a possession borne by a companion in that skirmish.
“Sauron sent three of the Nazgûl to reoccupy Dol Guldur....”
The first three versions Decipher made of Cantëa ALL had text that discarded FP possessions. It made him a pretty unique and cool Nazzie, I thought. Then Shadows arrived and Big D forgot all about that, and turned Cantëa into a themeless, run-of-the-mill, boring Nazgûl.
So, like I’m trying to do with many of my cards, I’m taking Cantëa back to his roots, though still trying to keep him "hip and modern" with some resistance-spotting text as well. It took a bit of tweaking, but I’m happy with the result, at least. How about you?
•Úlairë Nertëa, Keeper of Dol Guldur
Minion • Nazgûl
Strength: 9
Vitality: 2
Site: 3
Fierce. Hunter 2.
The site number of each Orc is -1.
While you can spot 3 races in the fellowship, Úlairë Nertëa gains muster.
“...they met their companions, the Nazgûl of Dol Guldur, in the Field of Celebrant.”
Here, I took a bit of Ulaire Nertea, Thrall of the One, a dash of Ulaire Nertea, Black Horseman, and mixed it with HIS main theme, which seems to be doing nasty stuff against larger fellowships. Again, I like how it all shook out...how about you?
Notice any themes of the Nazgûl? There will be more once we get to their support cards. |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

Should be "resistance 5 or less", I think. The FP player should have a way to prevent the possession discardal... maybe add 2 burdens?

I use MOSTLY signets, yes. Not all characters have signets, and even those that do have 6 resistance by default, right? I use a little of each, as part of my attempt to link up the old with the new.
As for your suggestion, I’ll do that. Resistance 4 or less it is. Thanks! |

Oh, oops. I thought you were recommending I reduce the resistance-hurting text.
Good catch on the vitality! That was a mistake on my part. I’ll fix it. |
