War of the Ring was my fave.

I liked the new cultures and strategies, for the most part. Until Hunters came around and D broke even the most broken cards out there.

But next to that, it would be RotK. Go besiegers and Elvents!

FOTR is definitely a very cool block, but Shadows gets my vote for all the new gameplay mechanics. Especially the sites.

Ya know, I really enjoyed TTT block the most. MoM and RotEL sucked pretty bad, and I found myself more interested in wargs and ents than pitiful Moria archers and Isengard orcs.

Plus I really like the flavor of Ring-bound rangers, old-school Rohan, and even the Three Hunters cards that were floating around.

When I came to Abraham I let him live just a moment longer. When I came to Moses I saved his life more than once. But the salmon... I regret to say I had a hand in its death.

Who am I?

I have notcied with the new sets D seems to be just making every culture super broken so that everyone has a NPE everytime you play. I am joining NB in the BAN THE Orc CULTURE PETITION

I really don’t know. I got into the game during FotR (and finally learned the correct way to play the game sometime during towers....) but I like alot of the FP stuff introduced in WotR.
On the other hand, I still prefer the "classic" shadow...

I just don’t know....

I think I have to go with m64 and pick Towers block. There wasn’t as much in it that I absolutely loved, but there was even less stuff that I disliked than in any other block.

There’s no Hunters block option.... I’m assuming no-one would actually vote for that? Laughing

Definately saying FotR. It’s so classic. I mean, who can not remember fondly how amazingly insane Legolas Greenleaf and Aragorn Ranger of the North were in this set. They just tore it up. And how about Ulaire Enquea, still arguably the best minion in the game.

FotR. I remember waiting for the Balrog and Saruman with great anticipation. And it’s hard to beat the birth of a great tcg.

I voted for War of the Ring block, mostly due to the new site path mechanics. Post-Shadows sites remove a little bit of the role-play sense found in the movie block site paths, but they also add tons of strategic possibilities. One of the best things to happen to LOTR TCG, imho.

Of course, I could just as easily have voted Fellowship of the Ring for reasons of nostalgia. Rolling Eyes

Yeah war of the ring was cool but the Orc culture is so broken im going with fotr for nostalgia purposes.

FotR - Lots of diversity in deck styles that could be made and be competitive:
For the Fellowship:
Insane gandalf/elf cycling
Dwarf Discard
Hobbit Hospital
9 walkers
Elf Discard
Elven allies/Horn of Boromir
Archery
Last Alliance
Solo Frodo
Frodo/Aragorn
Trust Me
Pipeweed

For the Shadow:
Dark Places Moria
Cave Troll Beat Down
Moria Swarm
Moria Archery
Stupid Swarm
Sauron Discard
Twilight Nazgul
Uruk Beatdown
Sauron Grind (Hate/Under the Watching Eye/Orc Bowmen)
Isengard Orcs (not really competitive until EoF)
Sauron Beatdown (Big Minions prevent double moves)
Uruk Discard
Classic Nazgul

Of course, there were a couple of shadows that would nearly always wreck house - Moria Swarm and Uruk Beatdown, but that didn’t prevent other decks from being competitive.

My next vote would be King block as initiative, threats and enduring are three of the best gameplay mechanics to come out. I like the new site path, but it has led to lots of abusive decks with all the easy replacement that is available.
