For example, The Blue Mountains are in the West in LotR, but during the first Era they were in the east...But everything west of the Blue Mountains was flooded when the Numenorians tried to get to Valinor.
But you should read the Silmarillion. Maybe don’t start at the beginning, there are beautiful tales, like the on from Beren and Luthien, the first of the three marriages between elfs and men... |
