Yes, but Frodo isn’t always used alongside Sam, which is what we’re talking about. The best use of Sam’s text is a large unbound fellowship (at least 4). When you’ve got a ring-bound deck that’s three Hobbit’s usually. He’s handicapped with 8 resistance, especially if you’re trying to take advantage of his follower gametext.

I was actually more looking for an answer to whether Sam would retain his ring-bearer and ring-bound keyword’s?

He would still be ring-bound and ring-bearer even if the card makes him lose his gametext. His ringed-resistance signifies that he is both.
