I just don’t think that a players council would have any authority over the game, internationally speaking...
There are a LOT, believe me, a lot of players community that are simply not even following Decipher’s standards, what say a players council... and some of them don’t even participate in any web forum... so how would they know about this and what advantage would they see in following whatever decisions this council takes?
I’m not so against the idea, I think it’s a good idea with good intentions but I don’t see how this would work... if you think well, we are the only active community in the internet, so what about everybody else?
A CC council and format seems a lot more reasonable and apropriate, since in the end, basicly all active players looking for some interaction with the outside world are here at CC... I think it would be complicated to reach out to all the players, and if you can’t do this, then the concept of a players council for the game is lost. |

I will wait to form an opinion until Queleri answers my Q’s. |

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. |

My main problem with this is that it’s elitist and esoteric. If you weren’t a member of the CC forums when the X-list was made...well, tough luck buddy. Just think of all the D players who weren’t on this board until recently. Or the WWL players who would go ballistic over such a move.
We need to be more inclusive, and to make it more widespread. We can’t get caught up in our own little format, we need to join with others. |

I totally agree with you, but this is what I’m questioning, how would this council reach out to everybody?
When I said CC council I meant a concil for US at CC to follow, because this we can do, everybody can participate, and stuff. |

I don’t think the PC would stop any playing group (no matter where they lived) from playing any format they chose. That playing group could ignore any rules the PC established. I think the PC is important for the game as a whole so larger tournaments can be organized at some of the larger Cons like some of these other dead games do. I hope a PC is established so a unified organization can keep the game fresh and unified among all players. |

Well one thing that would probably be quite important is to let people know that individuals are interested in establishing a players council.
It also might be useful to seek out other LOTR tcg players sites from various countries, etc.
Most importantly is that since Decipher seems to be having some problems, just how long will their servers be up for individuals to use as a central site to direct others to a players council site.
Furthermore, what would be the official site. Cobra Cards appears to have a good forum and a number of individuals at the site, but as others have noted, other player sites do exist.
I wouldn’t have much to do with the players council since I collect rather than play.
But I believe an attempts to establish a players council should be formalized as quickly as possible in regards to selecting/choosing, voting, etc. individuals to at least form the core organizing group. |

Perhaps if you kept up on the goings-on on the Decipher boards, you wouldn’t have to ask that question. Besides, can’t you take the word of a former World’s Finalist?
There is a whole world of players outside of CC who also happen to care about the future of LotR, and not just so that they’ll have something to play, but so that everyone will, including eventual new players. |

I used to participate on Decipher’s boards daily until they began to show they didn’t care about me as a fan, not the other way around. Don’t come in here and preach to me about who cares and who doesn’t, buddy. |
