It’s still not quite the effect I was going for, so I’d prefer to leave it as is. GP to each of you for your first reviews in the thread, though. Thumbs Up

Before the Watcher ever attacks, though, it watches, lurking under the marshy waters outside the West Gate and sizing up intruders. And the longer it waits, the more anxious it makes those intruders. Here’s a few cards showing what I mean. Twisted Evil Enjoy!

0 Dark Waters Moria
Event • Maneuver
Reveal Watcher in the Water from hand to make the Free Peoples player add 2.
“Before them stretched a dark still lake. Neither sky nor sunset was reflected on its sullen surface. The Sirannon had been dammed and had filled all the valley.”

0 A Soft Sound Moria
Event • Shadow or Maneuver
Reveal Watcher in the Water or 2 tentacles from hand to draw a card (or 2 cards if the fellowship is at a marsh).
“...a swish, followed by a plop, as if a fish had disturbed the still surface of the water. Turning quickly they saw ripples, black-edged with shadow in the waning light: great rings were widening outwards from a point far out in the lake. There was a bubbling noise, and then silence.”

2 Accursed Spot Moria
Event • Maneuver
Reveal X Moria Creatures from hand to make the Free Peoples player discard X cards from their hand or the top of their draw deck (limit 3).
“‘I hate this place, too, and I am afraid. I don’t know of what: not of wolves, or the dark behind the doors, but of something else. I am afraid of the pool. Don’t disturb it!’”

Sweet card.

Very nice theme going on i like the lurking in the water.

1 Accursed Spot Moria
Event • Maneuver
Reveal Watcher in the Water or 2 tentacles from hand to add a burden.
“‘I hate this place, too, and I am afraid. I don’t know of what: not of wolves, or the dark behind the doors, but of something else. I am afraid of the pool. Don’t disturb it!’”

Erm, why would the watcher want burdens. Not that this card isnt ok (id make it cost 2 though) but what use is it?

Burdens may be new to the Watcher, but they’re not new to the Moria culture. Even Ol’ Balgy has some awesome burden potential.

All this card is doing is adding another potential strategy for those who focus their deck on the Watcher. With these three cards (and others), it can become something of a "Ninja Watcher". Razz Is that bad, do you think? Should I do something else besides burdens with Accursed Spot?

Probably Dain, i mean if you were going to use moria burdens youd have a job putting all the watchers and tentacles in just for this card, it just doesnt seem viable to me. Its upto you but id make it something the watcher can use or something.

Hmmm. Well, I’ve got adding twilight and threats, and drawing cards...what else could revealing do? Maybe make the FP player discard from hand?

I really like the lurking theme, but I’d prefer higher cost cards with greater effects or I’m not convinced they’re worth using deck-space on.

I agree with lem0n, burdens don’t much fit the Moria culture. If you could make a corruption strategy, this would be cool, otherwise it’s lacking use. What about exertions? Discarding from their hand or draw deck? Adding twilight? Discarding possessions?

You haven’t seen the condition that supports all these yet. It will be the next thing I post. Smile

I have cards that do most of those except making the FP discard, so I think I’ll go with that. Thumbs Up

EDIT: Fixed. How is it now?

Another thought: I don’t see the point of A Soft Sound being maneuver as well. If you have the option to draw a card in the shadow or maneuver phase, shadow is just a better choice every time.

Again, there’s a condition on the way that might make you think otherwise. Perhaps not. *shrug* We’ll see.

How is Accursed Spot now?
