The Silmarillion is so much better than the Lord of the Rings. The problem with the original book, is that it doesn’t really know what it is or what to think of itself. At different points it’s a children’s story, an adventure story, a history, or a mythology, and it can never quite decide which it wants to be.
The great thing about the Silmarillion is it’s a mythology through and through, just like The Hobbit is entirely a children’s book (which, in my opinion, is also better than LOTR). Anyone who hasn’t read the Silmarillion should do so. NOW!

Once Feanor, Royal butthead dies it is really cool! I have only read it once though... |

If you like that story, you should try the new "Children of Hurin" book! |

I agree, I didn’t like Feanor at all. I would like to give my reasons, but I don’t want to spoil it for Lemonhead!
I love Turin and Hurin, Beren and Luthien, and the background it gives you on the men of Numenor. Also, Eor was a very strange elf, another example of Tolkien showing how there is good and evil (but in the end, just evil) in all of us. I like Tokien’s theory on why the world is round, as well. There’s so much more I can say, but I can’t! |

Not necessarily, he could have stayed in or returned to the West.
