cut the fierce minion one. otherwise it is too good.

While the fellowhip is at a forest or dwelling, exert a Elf to cancel a skirmish involving an unbound companion. At any other site, exert 2 Elves to cancel a skirmish involving a companion.

make it a G companion both times IMO |

Dáin’s DC Duos #79
Moving right along, with a couple pretty unique cards. Enjoy!
Out Leaped Wood-elves
Event • Maneuver
To play, exert a Elf.
If you can spot a or minion, this event’s twilight cost is -1 (or -2 if you can spot both).
If the fellowship is at a forest, you may play companions and allies any time you could play a maneuver, archery, or regroup event until the end of the turn.
“...suddenly out sprang the light of many torches all round them, like hundreds of red stars.”
Need I say more?
•Good People
Condition • Support Area
To play, spot a Elf and an Elf.
Each time a card must spot an Elf, you may add to spot a Elf instead.
Each time a card must spot a Elf, you may add to spot an Elf instead.
“...and after the coming of Men they took ever more and more to the gloaming and the dusk. Still elves they were and remain....”
There have been little teaser cards showing some good ties between Elves and their cousins, but none matches this. It means throwing around a little extra twilight, but this would forever ensure that Elves had a place in the game as a sort of subculture. At least, that’s what I would HOPE this card would be able to do. |

To specific. Against any other deck, including the ever-so-prevalent almighty and deck this card is useless.
Need I say more? The only real downside to this card is that it limits when you can play it. Forest sites isn’t a real big deal, especially in Lasting Alliances. minions aren’t too hard to come by in that set either, and minions are dotted all throughout my sets. But obviously, the usefulness ends outside of Expanded format. Ah well. Nothing’s perfect, right?

Wow! Dual culture! My suggestion, make it both and culture, kinda like Forth the Three Hunters is , , and

Okay, I made a couple changes to Out Leaped Wood-elves that should make it more useful in all decks...but still give incentive for using it against and minions. Also, I will make an version of Good People. Good idea.
For now...
Dáin’s DC Duos #80
...some more cards that encourage splashing Elves in with other races and cultures, especially the ones in Lasting Alliances.
The Yells Were Deafening
Event • Maneuver
Spot an Elf, a Dwarf, and a Man to make each of those characters strength +1 until the regroup phase. You may then exert a Elf and add to return this event to your hand.
“With cries of ‘Moria!’ and ‘Dain, Dain!’ the dwarves of the Iron Hills plunged in, wielding their mattocks, upon the other side; and beside them came the men of the Lake with long swords. Panic came upon the Goblins; and even as they turned to meet this new attack, the elves charged again with renewed numbers.”
This card’s pretty powerful with just the first line of text. twilight for a 3-companion strength boost...with NO cultural enforcement. Neat. Then you find the cultural enforcement and find the true strength of this card: replayability! If you’re loaded up with Elves, you can add some twilight and spread around some exertions to really pile on the strength boosts.
The ONE potential downside? This is in the maneuver phase, not the skirmish phase, giving your opponent, as BattleWarg put it in an earlier review, "a chance to prepare".
Bows Twanged, Arrows Whistled
Event • Archery
Toil 1.
Spot a Elf companion to make the fellowship archery total +1 for each and companion bearing a ranged weapon. Then you may make the fellowship archery total -X (to a minimum of 0) to make X of those companions strength +1 until the regroup phase.
“As soon as the host of their enemies was dense in the valley, they sent against it a shower of arrows, and each flickered as it fled as if with stinging fire.”
This is another potential dual-culture candidate (with the other being , of course, for the Lakemen to use).
As for the card itself...well, what do I need to say? Want lots of archery? Go for it. Want a lot of strength bonuses? Consider it done. Want some of each? You got it! |

i would make it cost or , it would be very powerful in a 3hunters deck.

i would get rid of the toil. is a fine cost for adding that much archery, plus you get the option of converting it to strength.

Whoa! Powerful! 4x Elven Bow + 4x Naith Longbow + Legolas’ Bow = 14 archery? for twilight? Then imagine playing two copies *shudder* I’d rather not have to eat 23 arrows. I mean, come on. High archery is one thing, 23 is another. Maybe force each of those companions to exert.
