Great, it is. Thanks, guys!
Dáin’s DC Duos #210
Believe it or not, we’re getting through the culture pretty quickly. Only a few Duos left!
In this one, here’s a non-unique Dwarf and battle he can fight in. Enjoy!
Dwarf of the Iron Hills
Companion • Dwarf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
To play, spot a unique Dwarf.
While you can spot 3 Dwarves, you may play this companion any time you could play a maneuver event.
While bearing a hand weapon, this companion is damage +1.
“The dwarves are exceedingly strong for their height, but most of these were strong even for dwarves.”
I took great pains not to overshadow other non-unique Dwarves (Dwarf Guard, Dwarven Warrior) when making this. How’d I do?
•War of the Dwarves and Orcs
Condition • Support Area
Tale. To play, spot a Dwarf in your discard or dead pile.
Each Dwarf skirmishing an Orc is damage +1.
“It was a terrible battle....” |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

I would drop the cost to . |
I had to put something here. |

Then it would completely overshadow the other non-uniques, wouldn’t it?

Funny, because I would make sure to overshadow Dwarf Guard and Dwarven Warrior, because they’re both rubbish useless cards! This is better, but I still want more! A damage bonus would not go amiss. Also, I might say ’play this companion any time you could play a maneuver event,’ but it doesn’t make much difference.

Orcs in the dead pile? Is that even possible? Cool card, though I might be tempted to leave out the Orc bit for playing it (after all, the war didn’t start because Orcs died, it started because Thror was killed).
Liked the fortifications, by the way. Second one was interesting. GP for cool ideas.

Dáin’s DC Duos #211
One more for today: a couple cards dealing with all those possessions in the set. Enjoy!
Deep-Throated Roar
Event • Skirmish
Toil 1.
Spot a unique Dwarf to make a Dwarf strength +2 for each weapon he bears. If he bears more than one hand weapon, make him damage +1.
“With cries of ‘Moria!’ and ‘Dáin, Dáin!’ the dwarves of the Iron Hills plunged in, wielding their mattocks, upon the other side....”
Gleamed Like Gold
Event • Skirmish
Choose one: Discard a possession borne by a Dwarf to play a possession of the same class from your hand or discard pile on that Dwarf; or discard X possessions (except weapons) borne by a Dwarf to make that Dwarf strength +2 for each possession discarded.
“Hood and cloak were gone; they were in shining armour, and red light leapt from their eyes.”
For this one, remember that there are several possessions in this set that have no strength bonuses whatsoever, and instead do things unrelated to skirmishing (like Dwarf Cloak, Thorin’s Pipe, and Tinder-box). Burning them for strength bonuses might not be such a bad idea when you need it. |

A cost toil card? I just wouldn’t bother exerting anyone. Rocking card though.

Like I said, I’m not sure I’d ever exert. If you want a Toil, make it cost at least with Toil 2 instead. You haven’t specified where you play the possession from. Your hand? If so, it’s not that great, though I seem to remember your weapons working better alone. Still, I’m unconvinced. Second ability is cool, though a high cost for not as much benefit as you’d expect. Maybe a base strength or damage boost should be thrown in as well?
Gotta love possessions.
