Tom’s twilight cost is -2 for each Troll you can spot.
Each time a Troll wins a skirmish, you may exert Tom to exert a character in that skirmish.
Each time a Troll loses a skirmish, you may exert Tom to add 1.
“‘Never a blinking bit of manflesh have we had for long enough....and the drink runnin’ short, what’s more.’”

A bit overpowered; I would make the skirmish winning ability exert him twice. Smile

While you can spot a Hobbit or a Dwarf, Tom is fierce.
While you can spot more Dwarves than Trolls, each Troll is fierce (or damage +1 if that Troll is already fierce).
“‘There’s more to come yet, or I’m mighty mistook. Lots and none at all, it is. No burra-hobbits, but lots of these here dwarves.’”

I would make it "a Hobbit and a Dwarf". I love the subtitle! Laughing
I had to put something here.

Thanks, everyone. Made a slight tweak to the first one, as recommended by SoP.

Dáin’s DC Duos #231

Now it’s Tom’s turn. He’s the lurker of the trio, and he also has the lowest vitality. But unlike Bert and William, he works equally well with ALL Trolls, meaning he’s the one you’re most likely to splash in with any ol’ Troll strategy.

And here he is. Enjoy!

Gosh, is there any way you could change that subtitle? Rolling Eyes The card is amazing, though.

Dáin’s DC Duos #232

Okay, before I retire for the evening, here’s the last of the Troll Trio.

Bert was our fierce Troll, Tom was our lurker, and Bill is damage +1. But there’s much more to him than that. He’s kind of the "specialist" of the group, with abilities that you’d normally find on conditions or events than minions...especially Trolls. Enjoy!

9William, Bill Huggins Orc
Minion • Troll
Strength: 15
Vitality: 5
Site: 2
Damage +1.
William’s twilight cost is -2 for each Troll you can spot.
Shadow: If at a forest, marsh, or mountain site, exert William to replace the current site with your own site of the same number.
Maneuver: Exert William and discard an Orc card from hand to play an Orc possession on a Troll.
“‘You’ve et a village and a half between yer, since we come down from the mountains. How much more d’yer want?’”

9William, Fat Fool Orc
Minion • Troll
Strength: 15
Vitality: 5
Site: 2
Lurker. Damage +1.
William’s twilight cost is -1 for each Troll you can spot (or -2 if that Troll is Bert or Tom).
Response: If a Free Peoples card makes you discard a card (except a minion) from hand or from play, exert William twice and discard a card from hand to capture an unbound character.
Response: If a Troll wins a skirmish, exert William twice to capture a character in that skirmish.
“‘Blimey, Bert, look what I’ve copped!’”

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

So if using the FotR/TTT/RotK block sitepath, he’s ALMOST tipping the rift in the same manner as Ulaire Nelya, Lieutenant of Morgul did. But since it’s conditional (The site has to be a certain terrain) I’d say it’s a bit more balanced than Nelya. Overall, neat card!

I’m not familiar with what capturing is, but it sounds pretty interesting! I’d almost think about making his response action say "...capture a character (Except the ring-bearer)..." That way, not even the ring-bound rangers or hobbits can escape Mr. William. Smile

A full description of capturing (and rescuing) can be found in Duo #175, but basically, it’s like controlling (and liberating) sites...except for characters. Very Happy

Normally I’d agree with you about the unbound thing, but in this case, I’d prefer to leave it as is, since both versions of Bilbo in the set are Ring-bound, and Bilbo was ALWAYS tough to capture. Smile

Thanks a bundle for the review, though. GP

Done...kind of, at least. I guess that’s a good idea since he comes with two nice keywords by default AND some powerful text.

Anyone else?

Nah, I’d rather leave him at 9, especially with the reduced cost reduction.

Dáin’s DC Duos #233

You might have wondered what sort of possessions William, Bill Huggins might be grabbing with his maneuver ability. Sure, he can get stuff like Cave Troll’s Hammer, Unwieldy Cudgel (and, oddly, things like Mordor Scimitar and Bladed Gauntlets), but here’s the stuff that makes his ability REALLY useful. Enjoy!

2 Troll’s Purse Orc
Possession
Bearer must be Bert, Tom, or William. Limit 1 per bearer.
At the start of each skirmish involving bearer, the Free Peoples player must add a threat or exert a companion or ally in that skirmish.
Response: If bearer is about to take a wound, discard this possession to prevent that wound.
“Trolls’ purses are the mischief, and this was no exception.”

2 Sack Orc
Possession
Bearer must be Bert, Tom, or William. Limit 1 per bearer.
At the end of the assignment phase, you may discard this possession to capture an unassigned companion. Bearer may not be assigned to a skirmish until the end of the turn.
Regroup: Exert bearer twice and discard this possession to capture a companion.
“...before Balin, who was wondering where in all this commotion Bilbo was, knew what was happening, a sack was over his head, and he was down.”
