Legendary.
Bearer must be Gil-galad.
Gil-galad gains enduring 1.
’His sword was long his lance was keen / His shining helm afar was seen’
I think the second "Gil-galad" should simply be "He". I also think I would find a way to use it, for sure.

Bearer must be an Elf.
Bearer gains " Stalwart - (at the start of each skirmish involving bearer and a minion of greater strength, you may:) make bearer strength +3."
Hmmm. Useless sometimes, but sometimes a +3? I guess that’s balanced enough. |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

coolio! but...artifact? it says on elven swords, that the sword stayed in the family for a while, so just cause it is old, it shouldn’t be an artifact IMSO |

Funnily enough, I actually have no idea! This lore was a total improvisation. I was posting the card, thought it was a bit bare, so decided to quote the ballad of Gil-galad from memory! I’ll check that up...

Difference being this one is from the First Age and the wars against Morgoth.

You may remember Gwaith-i-Mirdain that had cards stacked on it, and SoP mentioned that it would be cool to be able to take them into hand. Well, I decided against making such an event for one card, so here’s the first one with a friend!
• Gwaith-i-Mirdain
Condition • Support Area
To play, spot 3 Elves.
Each time your artifact is discarded from play, you may stack it here from your discard pile.
Maneuver: Discard 2 cards stacked here to choose an opponent who must exert his or her minion.
Regroup: Discard 2 rings stacked here to reconcile your hand.
The First Council
Condition • Support Area
To play, spot 3 Elves.
Each time you play an event, you may stack it here from your discard pile.
At the start of the regroup phase, you may transfer a card stacked here to another condition.
It’s referring to the White Council, by the way, which apparently first met just before the Last Alliance, except without the Istari.
Skill of their Works
Event • Maneuver
Spot an Elf to choose one: draw 2 cards; or take into hand a card stacked on an condition.
Probably more such conditions will be coming.

I stand by my initial review that you need two cards to exert a minion as you discard artifacts all too easy so basically they all gain when you discard this exert a minion which is just so wrong, and 3 cards for reconcile. Then could lower cost to 1. Wouldnt be the end of the world though its a good card.

Think it should be 3 cards, elf events are like pennies, theres millions of em.

I’m loathe to bring up the card count too much on Gwaith-i-Mirdain because it’s built specifically for the Three and so there shouldn’t be too many cards there at any given time. Given that, I’ve changed the second line to discarding rings only. Good?
I have the same problem with The First Council - 3 cards for 1 heal doesn’t sit right with me at the moment, and it’s only in the maneuver phase so it doesn’t catch skirmish or regroup events until next turn. I will think on it, however.

The thing is, when you catch your events, you are getting something for nothing. Discarding events from this card isn’t a high cost, it’s just an added bonus. I’m not sure how high you should set the level (maybe only playtesting would show) but it might be too low here.

Thanks Anvar thats exactly my point, anything that is about to be discarded is worthless and to "catch" it and stack it is a free action. To then get a bonus from a card that was going to be useless is already very cool and if you dont control how good the bonus is from these cards then its too strong. Like i said youre effectively saying play 2 elf events to heal a companion and thats insanely good and they were just going to the discard anyway and suddenly your making them even better by giving them a second use. |
