It had better be a unique card! I don’t want to see 4x Grishnakh out there! |

Awwww...but that was my whole strategy with mine!
Oh well...back to the drawing board. |
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones
Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

HERE THEY ARE! SoP finally decided to participate....
ROUND 1

Captain Each time this Character wins a skirmish you may make another Character of the same culture strength + 2 until the regroup phase.
Shadow :Exert Grishnahk twice to make the fellowship player choose to either add or make the ring-bearer wear the one-ring until the regroup phase.
Skirmish : Exert your Hunter to heal Grishnahk.
Response : If an unbound is killed or discarded, Exert Grishnahk discard a hunter to add a burden (or 2 burdens if the Ring-bearer wears the one ring).
editors note: this is to show him using the uruks energy to find the one ring, and then knocking them off to corrupt its bearer.
I’m assuming that SoP wanted him to be unique, thus I added the •. If you don’t want him unique, tell me and I’ll put it back.

Lurker.
Grishnakh is strength +1 for each unbound Hobbit you can spot.
Response: If an unbound companion is about to be discarded, exert Grishnakh and discard an card from hand to prevent that companion from being discarded.
ROUND 2

Tracker. Hunter 1.
The site number of each Orc is -3.
While you can spot an Uruk-hai, each other and Orc gains hunter 1 (or hunter 2 if that Orc is a tracker).
Regroup: Spot an Uruk-hai and discard Grishnákh to return an unbound companion to his or her owner’s hand.
“‘Enjoying your nice rest? Or not? A little awkwardly placed, perhaps: swords and whips on one side, and nasty spears on the other!’”

Hunter 1
Skirmish: Exert Grishnakh twice and discard an Orc to make an hunter strength +X, where X is the strength of the discarded minion.
ROUND 3

Strength-11
Vitality-3
Roaming-4
Grishnakh is hunter X, where X is the number of unbound companions with strength 5 or less.
Assignment: Exert Grishnakh and spot an unbound companion with the most wounds to assign Grishnakh to that companion.
"’What about their legs? They don’t need those. Oh, they look tasty!’"

Aid- Heal a companion.
To transfer this to a minion (except an minion), remove a threat. When you play this follower, you may spot 3 possessions to add a threat (or spot 7 possessions to add three threats).
Skirmish: Discard an Uruk-Hai and exert bearer to make the Free Peoples player exert a companion for each threat you can spot.
Grishnakh hated the Isengarders, yet he knew how to use them to his advantage.
ROUND 4

When you play Grishnakh, you may spot another minion to add a threat for each companion over 4.
Skirmish: Remove a threat to make a wounded companion skirmishing an minion strength -1.

Hunter 1.
While you can spot a possession, Grishnakh is fierce.
While he bears a possession, Grishnakh is damage +1.
Skirmish: Exert Grishnakh twice to exert the Ring-bearer (and add a burden if you can spot an unbound hobbit).
’Nazgûl, Nazgûl,’ said Grishnákh, shivering and licking his lips, as if the word had a foul taste that he savoured painfully. ’You speak of what is deep beyond the reach of your muddy dreams, Uglúk!
Designer’s Notes: I made this the culture because, at one point, Grishnakh mentions to Ugluck that there is a Nazgul waiting for them, to take the captured hobbits to their master. Ugluk doubts the Ringwraith’s power, and Grishnakh said the quote that is in the lore of my card.
Beyond that, I tried to make him conform to existing orc strategies, and yet it fits Grishnakh well. He was searching for the hobbits’ "possession" (the Ring) and he fought best with his own sword, of course. Also, he was very rough with the Ring-bearer (at least, who HE thought was the Ring-bearer). |

1. t7- SoP’s was to cluttered, several major wording/typos, and I don’t like using non-existant loaded keywords in DC contests.
3. m64- Close one. Although Grishnakh could then have hunter 0, meaning he’s a hunter, but with no bonus, just canceling and cards that spot hunter.
4. AC- Again, close, but AC’s was simpler and better. |

DI
M64
Sorry, SoP, I really loved your ideas (so a GP for you!) but a bit much for one card. It would have been better without captain, and the whole deal would have worked better as a combo of cards instead of just one minion. NB was right, it was a bit cluttered.
I voted for DI because I really like the old tracker stuff, and it also ties in well with new Orcs. Also, I really don’t like the idea of Grishnakh working with the culture (even if D did that) because they really seemed to be enemies when trying to take the hobbits to their respective masters.
And for M64, again, I don’t like Grishnakh - synergy (they DID mostly work against each other). CG’s had great ideas, but i think a bit much for a follower. |
