And I vote:
10
9
4
Which, thanks to Drake’s votes, leaves us with a tie.
EL (#1.) - 10
Dáin (#5.) - 10
Anvar (#10.) - 9
mm (#11.) - 8
WLC (#2.) - 8
Drake (#3.) - 6
NBarden (#6.) - 4
AP (#8.) - 4
Maiden (#9.) - 4
lem0n (#4.) - 3
Thran (#7.) - 0
Hmmmm. Now I don’t know what to do. Should we have a mini-contest between EL and I, do you think? Or just try to get someone else to vote? What do you long-time contest hosts do when this happens?
I’m inclined to have a short round between EL and I. And I do mean SHORT, like a couple days long. I don’t want to hold up the rest of the contest too long.... |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

I know I’m cool, but...

Normally, I’d say just have a tie-breaker. But since EL is not as active as most, I’d say just get another vote. Offer a couple of s or something. |
I had to put something here. |

Tell you what. I looked over EL’s cards again, and since his and mine don’t conflict (and in fact fit together awfully well), I will include all six in my set The Road Ahead and start designing the rest of the culture around all of them. So there...that takes care of that, and now we don’t have to resolve anything at all!
Unfortunately, we also have our first elimination. Thranduil, you’re a good man and a good card maker, but everyone has a bad contest round every now and then. This time, sadly, it was you. Have a for competing!
So, now that we’re down to 10, it’s time for the next challenge. This card will be for my latest (current) set based around The Two Towers...namely, The Way Into Mordor.
For this challenge, you will be finishing the following card:
•Sam, Worthy Halfling
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: ?
Vitality: ?
Resistance/Signet?
Ring-bound.
“‘The Shire must truly be a great realm, Master Gamgee, where gardeners are held in high honor.’”
I would ask that you keep the lore, but the rest is up to you. You can change the subtitle if you can think of a better one, and while it’s probably best if you stick with his normal 3/4 stats, I’m leaving that open too if you want to tweak them. My sets use a lot of signets, including the addition of Elrond and Thorin signets, though it’s not strictly necessary to use one here if you really REALLY want to use resistance instead.
Also, since this IS centered around The Two Towers, keep events and character interaction and all from that timeframe in mind as you design.
So, please keep the lore, but basically, the rest is up to you. Have fun with it!
Since this is just one card, I’ll tentatively put the deadline at midnight (EST) this Friday, December 7th, though if people need more time I imagine we may be able to push it through the weekend. We’ll see how it goes.
Oh, and I plan on one more elimination this round. Just FYI. |

Uh...yes, that’s the point. This is a TT Sam, lore and all.
Thanks to everyone for taking the time for those cards, by the way. I have officially started the culture for The Road Ahead, beginning with the six winning cards...and also a couple other cards folks made that didn’t win, but I liked a lot and simply HAD to include.
Thanks again, all! And good luck in the next challenge. |

Oh well. I was concerned that I gave my card to much of a TT feel to it, but I guess that’s good, then.
Quite.
I have one entry now, folks! Wonder who it could be from.... |
