One more card for today. Enjoy!

1 The Road Goes Ever On and On Shire
Condition • Support Area
Tale.
Fellowship: If the fellowship is at a dwelling site, spot 2 Hobbits and discard this condition to play the fellowship’s next site (replacing an opponent’s site if necessary).
“‘...down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, and I must follow, if I can.’”

I think this is a card you should consider making unique.

Thanks, thonnas! GP I did what you suggested, but with a twist. Very Happy How’s it look now?
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

Sweet! Cool
I had to put something here.

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. Razz

2 Hobbit Pony Shire

Bearer must be an unbound Hobbit.
If you can spot 2 mounted Hobbits, the move limit is +1.
Discard this mount when at an underground site.
Skirmish: Discard this possession to cancel a skirmish involving bearer. Any Shadow player may remove a burden or 2 threats to prevent this.
“‘They’ve more sense (in some ways) than you wandering hobbits have—more sense in their noses.’”

I don’t think I like the move limit part, since with 4 of these ponies you can move 6 times in a 2-player game (and since move limit modifiers last till the end of the turn, I’m pretty sure that even if this possession was discarded the move limit would stay for the turn).

I would just drop the cost to 1 and drop the move limit part, or maybe change the move limit ability to "Each time the fellowship moves during the regroup phase, you may add 2 to heal bearer."

Oh, and why can it only be borne by an unbound Hobbit? After all, you can’t ever cancel the RB’s skirmish so I don’t see why it couldn’t be played on a Bilbo RB.

The Road Goes Ever On and On looks good, although you could consider shortening the title to The Road Goes Ever On.

Huh. Somehow I never saw that you had reviewed this, AC. I just now got to it as I was getting ready to post more, thinking everything was settled. Oops.

Okay, I like what you suggested, so I did just that.

*shrug* I guess it doesn’t HAVE to be, but I wanted to do a different mount for Ring-bound Hobbits. Speaking of which, check below in a minute. Smile

3 Stout Pony Shire
Possession • Mount
Resistance +1
Bearer must be a Ring-bound Hobbit.
Discard this mount when at an underground site.
If bearer is the Ring-bearer and you can spot two mounted Hobbits, the move limit is +1.

It seems a little overpowered. I would raise the cost to 3 or drop the resistance bonus. Smile

I opted to raise the cost of Stout Pony to 3. Better balanced now?

In the meantime, let’s get back on track...by shifting gears. Razz I’m not leaving the Shire culture, but I am moving away from Hobbits for a little while. So what non-Hobbits are in the Shire culture, you ask? The answer will seem pretty obvious once you look down. Smile Enjoy!

5Tom Bombadil, Oldest and Fatherless Shire
Ally • Home 2
Strength: 14
Vitality: 9
To play, remove a burden or 2 threats.
Each companion is resistance +1.
Maneuver: Spot 2 Shire companions and exert Tom Bombadil X times, where X is the fellowship’s site number, to remove a burden (limit twice per turn).
“‘Mark my words, my friends: Tom was here before the river and the trees; Tom remembers the first raindrop and the first acorn.’”

3Tom Bombadil, Eldest Shire
Follower
Strength +1
Resistance +2
Aid(X). X is the current region number.
Discard any Shadow cards borne by or played on bearer.
“‘Don’t you know my name yet? That’s the only answer. Tell me, who are you, alone, yourself and nameless?’”

I’ve always been feaful of making a version of Tom Bombadil...how could I possibly compete with the awesome ally that is Tom Bombadil, The Master? But as I got into it, I actually had fun, and ended up with TWO Toms, both of which I’m very happy with. How do YOU like them?

Of course, what’s Tom Bombadil without his wife?

3Goldberry, Fair Lady Shire
Ally • Home 2
Strength: 4
Vitality: 6
Each time the fellowship moves to a river, heal Goldberry and Tom Bombadil.
At the start of each maneuver phase, if the fellowship is at a river or dwelling, you may exert Goldberry X times, where X is the current region number, to heal a companion or remove a burden.
Maneuver or Regroup: Exert Goldberry twice (or once if the fellowship is at a river) to discard a weather condition. Limit once per turn.
“‘The rain has ended, and new waters are running downhill, under the stars. Let us now laugh and be glad!’”

Remember, weather conditions make an even bigger impact in my sets than they did in the old days of Saruman’s weather stuff, so that last ability is more useful than it might seem at first. Smile
