 Overwhelming Spirit
Condition • Support Area
Each time a unique minion with twilight cost 12 or higher is played, you may exert a companion.
Maneuver: Exert The Balrog to return an artifact or possession borne by a companion (except the Ring-bearer) to its owner’s hand.
"’Then something came into the chamber - I felt it through the door, and the orcs themselves were afraid and fell silent... and I was thrown backwards down the stairs.’"
Way overpowered seeing as its not unique. And returning 4 possessions/artifacts in one turn is very strong.
Thran
 Shadow and Despair
Condition • Support Area
Str: -2
Res: -2
Response: If a companion loses a skirmish involving The Balrog, transfer this condition to that companion.
Limit 1 per bearer.
Assignment: Discard this condition to assign The Balrog to bearer. The Free Peoples player may make each Orc strength +1 until the regroup phase to prevent this.
Not bad but +1 to orcs is slightly weak.
AC
 •Great Shadow
Condition • Support Area
Each time you play The Balrog, you may exert a companion. The Free Peoples player may add a burden to prevent this.
Skirmish: Spot 5 burdens and exert The Balrog to make him strength +2.
"’He gave a cry of dismay and fear.’"
Fits into your Balrog theme nicely and just like it anyway.
Dain
 • Beyond Any of You
Condition • Support Area
To play, spot The Balrog.
Skirmish: Exert The Balrog twice to discard a weapon borne by a companion it is skirmishing.
Skirmish: Exert The Balrog twice to make a companion it is skirmishing strength -2 and resistance -1. Limit once per skirmish.
“‘Swords are no more use here....’”
Well balanced and useful.
AP
 • Great Shadow
Condition • Support Area
Toil 1.
Skirmish: Discard this condition to make each minion strength +2.
Each time the fellowship moves, you may exert The Balrog and discard a minion to add a burden.
”His enemy halted again, facing him, and the shadow about it reached out like two vast wings.”
Limited use, who’d be daft enough double move past the Balrog?
mm
 The Flame of the Shadows
Condition • Support Area
When you play this condition you may place a token here.
Each time the Balrog takes a wound or is exerted, place a token here.
If The Balrog is about to take a wound that would kill it, remove 2 tokens from here (or discard this condition) to prevent that.
Great card but needs to be unique.
SoP
 Awakened
condition • Support Area
To play, spot a minion. When you play this condition add a token here for each underground site on the adventure path. Shadow :Remove X tokens from here to play The Balrog from your discard pile. Its twilight cost is -X.
Sweet i like it. Might need to be unique however or youre stacking up cheap balrogs in your support area.
Uniqueness seems to be my main problem with this batch.
But my votes are

Not this morning (voting in the morning is bad luck!). But I’ll be around a lot this week. |

Mine was unique!
Anyway, my votes are:

Thran
Honorable mention goes to lem0n (just a TAD overpowered on that first ability, IMO) and AC (cool, but probably should cost more for a potential strength +8 pump). |

Hey, if I get eliminated, can I get back to posting Balrog stuff in my own thread? Even if it does seem to be unpopular.... |

Well, the condition is unpopular, at least. No votes yet.
So is the contest over after this? |
