NBarden wrote: Why not make ambush work for fellowship, only that when assigned, twilight gets removed? Just an idea.
I’ve considered just that, and I may very well do that later, but I’m worried about doing that widespread because then you’re opening yourself up to having the Shadow player assign your companions, which would probably have a tendency to backfire. Besides, removing twilight that late in the turn USUALLY isn’t incredibly useful, I wouldn’t think. Much better for the Shadow player to try and add some...hence the reason ambush works very well for them.
But again, I have considered it and will continue to, and that will probably show up somewhere in the future.
Thanks for the reviews, all. It’s hard to make everyone happy, but I made some tweaks that will hopefully appease the majority.
For now, here are some NON-stealth events, just so you don’t forget what cards look like when they lack the stealth keyword. Enjoy!
Curse the Southrons!
Event • Fellowship
Exert a ranger to reveal an opponent’s hand. That opponent must discard a card from hand for each Man revealed.
“‘...we come to ambush the Men of Harad. Curse them!’”
Curse Their Foul Feet! for Gondorians.
Teach Another Lesson
Event • Skirmish
Make a minion skirmishing a ranger strength -2 for each Shadow culture you can spot (limit -6).
“‘And they go ever more heedlessly, we learn, thinking that the power of their new master is great enough, so that the mere shadow of His hills will protect them.’”
It’s about time there was Shadow anti-rainbow stuff, don’t you think?
Business in Hand
Event • Skirmish
Make a companion strength +2. If that companion wins this skirmish, you may discard a roaming minion involved in that skirmish.
“‘There will be hard handstrokes nigh at hand ere the day is full. Then death, or swift flight back to Anduin.’”
Inspired by cards like Impatient and Angry and Hope is Kindled. |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

Id make it cost 1 cos gondor are better than elves so this gives them an unfair advantage

You shouldn’t appease the majority just for the sake of it, you should make what you think is the best card! We’re just here to help you, your DC threads are not a democracy!

Not worth it. Each minion and it rocks, each Man and it’s useless.

Interesting, but I’d take out the exertion and make the strength reduction apply to a minion skirmishing a ranger.

I’d prefer ’you may discard a roaming minion’, but nice all round.

Looks pretty good to me. I wouldn’t make it for each minion, personally, a lot of shadows use men.

That plus the fact that, unlike Curse Their Foul Feet!--which spots Orcs, and therefore can only spot minions--this one can potentially spot Free Peoples Men, too. |

And I would argue that Curse Their Foul Feet was useless as well, if a little more.

As aforementioned, Curse Their Foul Feet was useless. Personally, I’m not a fan of specific minion hosers. It only works part of the time. But, if you know you’re opponent’s running Underfoot, this is the ULTIMATE Underfoot hoser invented.
Curse Their Foul Feet! for Gondorians.

Cut the limit. Nice. The problem is, not many Shadows run rainbows, but since its a base -2 anyway, cool. I liked the original exert to make a minion -2, because then it could be used on anyone, as is, I don’t know who WOULDN’T use Swordarm of the White Tower or Rally the Company over this. Shadow rainbows just aren’t prevalent. Sorry.

Just for the record, *I* happen to like this one.... CTFF was terrible, but this doesn’t seem nearly as bad as long as you only run one or two.

Alright... not so bad, but not great. I’m probably the only person I know who runs rainbow shadows on even a semi-regular basis. Depends on what the other cards in the set are like. If you have some pro-rainbow shadow DCs, then this isn’t so bad.
