Does he come from the wild west? Funny subtitle if u ask me. He is very cool though.

Could you not save text by making it wound once and ignoring the last clause? I think it would be simpler, but I don’t suppose it matters hugely.

Sigewulf was one of many volunteers whose bravery made up for his lack of battle experience.
Wouldn’t use him, but fair enough. These other guys seem to be a lot more helpful as he’ll never actually be able to fight with strength 4 and vitality 1.

I really don’t care much for the discard ability - just another disadvantage to a generally lacking strategy. I think he’d probably be fine with it.

Again about the discard text, but he’s fine. Just a shame that Decipher didn’t have any more ingenuity so had to name him after a Celtic hero.

Yeah, I like that. I just may do that....
Just one new card for now--last couple days have been ca-RAZY!--but she’s the ultimate villager: a companion! Enjoy!
•Morwen, Defender of the Penmark
Companion • Man
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Signet: Théoden
Villager. Hunter 2.
Each time another villager is killed or discarded, you may make Morwen strength +2 and resistance -2 until the regroup phase.
Though choosing to live as a simple Rohirrim woman, Morwen is a fierce former shieldmaiden willing to defend her village should the need ever again arise.
Morwen is another import from the game The Third Age, which as you regular reviewers know by now is the center of my (possibly) last set down the line, and is also sprinkled throughout my other sets. And as you ALSO probably already know, part of that "sprinkling" is me including each of the six main characters from the game in one of my three Lord of the Rings-centric sets. The Elf Idrial and the Dwarf Hadhod appeared in my Fellowship of the Ring set, The Road Ahead. The Gondorians Berethor and Elegost have already appeared in this set. Now it’s time for the last two...and both are Rohirrim. We’ll get to the other guy later, but for now, we get to Morwen.
Not only is she a villager companion, but she also makes for excellent villager protection, which makes perfect sense if you understand her character from The Third Age. Her "normal" strength drops from 6 to 5, but she gets a nice hunter 2 to make her even better in many cases. And her ability makes her a beast if your opponent tries to wipe out your other villagers. |
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones

/7/3/6 with one of the best signets in the game? Bring down the hunter!

A 2/7/3 comp for 2 thats ridic.... O wait its been said already.
Cut the hunte.... O wait. Bah i give up.
No in all seriousness i think this time you can get away with it because its a good card but limited use. Without being strong for low cost she doesnt have a great point to her that makes her worth using, as ally discard decks are rare at best, non existant is more accurate. brown lands will do this for one turn only. So i give it a |

Not surprisingly, I’m with lem0nhead on this one. She’s actually pretty useless without other villagers around, so I think her hunter 2 is alright. Besides, there are many other ways to get /7/3 companions, like most versions of Eomer and Theoden, who simply require another companion to get it done. Linnar is also a /7/3 companion with NO requirements for being so cheap.
I really think that a rare exception like this is alright, as long as it IS, indeed, rare.
That being said, let’s get back to some normal, simple, yet all-new villagers. Enjoy!
•Sewel
Ally • Home 4 [TTT] • Man
Strength: 4
Vitality: 2
Villager.
Discard Sewel if an opponent controls any site 4.
Each time the fellowship moves to a plains site, you may heal Sewel.
Maneuver: Exert Sewel to make the current site a plains site until the end of the turn.
Like many of his fellow farmers, Sewel had spent many days cultivating the lands of the Westfold.
could really use a card like this...and villagers could really use a card like this to get more consideration. After all, you can exert ANY villager (even Morwen) to get the benefit. Nifty!
•Gylda
Ally • Home 4 [TTT] • Man
Strength: 3
Vitality: 2
Villager.
Discard Gylda if an opponent controls any site 4.
While you can spot another Man and Gylda is not exhausted, she has muster.
Regroup: Exert Gylda to draw a card.
Gylda was just one of many women forced to flee her simple farming life behind on the long journey to Helm’s Deep.
Muster or a card draw? Tough choice...but perhaps one you don’t have to make. There are plenty of ways to heal villagers, from the new Eowyn (and her sword) to Freda to this semi-reprint:
Well Prepared
Condition • Support Area
Fellowship: Discard a ally or follower from play or from hand to heal a villager.
“‘But great store of food, and many beasts and their fodder, have also been gathered there.’”
This is sort of a replacement for Supplies of the Mark. It might not look much better at first, but if you’re having trouble healing your villagers, it can be a lifesaver, discarding an exhausted (and therefore probably useless) one to heal another whose ability you badly need. Like SotM, though, it also lets you turn allies in your hand into healing if that route makes more sense for you. Oh, and for extra fun, this allows you to also discard followers. I haven’t added any followers YET, but there will be a handful between this set and the next, The End Of All Things.
This card, of course, is beastly with the recent version of Morwen I posted. Remember, she gets bigger and nastier whenever villagers are discarded. And as a villager herself, you can even heal her at the same time Mwaha.
And lastly, an all-out reprint, just for kicks.
Fight for the Villagers (reprint)
Event • Skirmish
Make a Man strength +2 (or +3 if you spot a villager).
“‘They do not come to destroy Rohan’s crops or villages. They come to destroy its people, down to the last child.’” |

Theoden and Eomer only do it once you’ve met a condition, and Linnar’s abilities are useless (have you ever seen anyone actually use them?) Her ability is not useless.

Simple. You should make some cards that discard or kill villagers for Morwen.

’Gains muster’, no? You might as well take out the ’another Man’ bit - who is ever going to use her in a deck, for example!

Now, take out the placing a ally beneath your draw deck and this becomes a decent card. I wouldn’t use it (ever) as is. You lose an ally to heal an ally and add twilight? Not worth it.

Why have you reprinted one of the worst cards in TTT? Adding 2 on top of discarding an ally is a ridiculous cost to heal a villager.
