Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

Like I said at the beginning; this contest will have some surprises. I just surprised myself by realizing that I cannot give 1 copy of Noble Leaders as an FPCA prize and the same copy as 2nd prize for Round 4. I’ll come up with a new prize, and guess what? It’s a surprise.
DáinIronfoot
•Thorin, Oakenshield
Companion • Dwarf
Strength: 7
Vitality: 4
Resistance: 5
Damage +1.
While you can spot a Dwarf and a non-Dwarf companion, Thorin’s twilight cost is -2.
Maneuver: Exert Thorin and spot X Free Peoples races (limit 4) to make X unbound companions strength +1 (or +2 if that companion is a Dwarf) until the regroup phase. Limit once per turn.
“‘To me! To me! Elves and Men! To me! O my kinsfolk!’ he cried, and his voice shook like a horn in the valley.”
•Orcrist, Goblin-cleaver
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be Thorin.
He is damage +1 and gains hunter 1.
Response: If Thorin wins a fierce skirmish, exert him twice (or once if you can spot an Orc in his skirmish) to discard a minion in that skirmish.
“‘I will keep this sword in honour. May it soon cleave goblins once again!’”
•Tom Bombadil, Oldest and Fatherless
Ally • Home 2
Strength: 14
Vitality: 9
To play, remove a burden or 2 threats.
Each companion is resistance +1.
Maneuver: Spot 2 companions and exert Tom Bombadil X times, where X is the fellowship’s site number, to remove a burden (limit twice per turn).
“‘Mark my words, my friends: Tom was here before the river and the trees; Tom remembers the first raindrop and the first acorn.’”
•Bard, The Bowman
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 7
Archer. Muster. To play, spot a Man.
Archery: Exert Bard and add a threat to exert a minion; Bard does not add to the fellowship archery total. You may take the next archery action.
“‘I am Bard, of the line of Girion; I am the slayer of the dragon!’”
AnxiousChieftain
•Halbarad, Kinsman of Aragorn
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 7
Ranger. Hunter 1.
Response: If Aragorn is about to take a wound, exert Halbarad or add 2 threats to prevent that wound.
"’We seek one Aragorn son of Arathorn....’"
•Standard of the White Tree
Possession • Hand Weapon
Resistance +1
Bearer must be a Man.
If bearer is Halbarad, each Man is resistance +1.
Skirmish: Play this possession from your hand to make each companion who has resistance 7 or more strength +2 until the regroup phase.
"...instead of a spear he bore a tall staff, as it were a standard, but it was close-furled in a black cloth bound about with many thongs."
•Erkenbrand, Marshal of the West-mark
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 7
Valiant.
When you play Erkenbrand (except in your starting fellowship), you may play a possession on him from your draw deck or discard pile.
Skirmish: If the Ring-bearer is assigned to a skirmish, exert Erkenbrand to make a Man strength +2.
"Amid them strode a man tall and strong."
•Lugdush, Raider from Isengard
Minion • Uruk-hai
Strength: 8
Vitality: 2
Site Number: 5
Hunter 1. Fierce.
Each time Lugdush wins a skirmish, you may discard an unbound Hobbit. The Free Peoples player may exert a non- companion twice to prevent this.
"’Bind their legs!’"
Remember, the voting for this round is different.
Lore (0-1 point)
Correct card setup (0-1 point)
Card text (0-8 points)
Both contestants have lore and correct card setup, so when you vote, only vote on the text of the card [on a scale of 1 to 8, 8 being the highest]. Voting will end in 10 days or so.
Have a good time, guys! |
I had to put something here. |

NB, you need to rate Dain’s card between and 1-8, and AC’s also. |

“‘To me! To me! Elves and Men! To me! O my kinsfolk!’ he cried, and his voice shook like a horn in the valley.”
Nice, works well with multicultural fellowships, particularly / . A little OP, and a small wording problem, so 7.
 • Orcrist, Goblin-cleaver
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be Thorin.
He is damage +1 and gains hunter 1.
Response: If Thorin wins a fierce skirmish, exert him twice (or once if you can spot an Orc in his skirmish) to discard a minion in that skirmish.
“‘I will keep this sword in honour. May it soon cleave goblins once again!’”
Nice. Perfect rendition of the Orcrist. 8.
 • Tom Bombadil, Oldest and Fatherless
Ally • Home 2
Strength: 14
Vitality: 9
To play, remove a burden or 2 threats.
Each companion is resistance +1.
Maneuver: Spot 2 companions and exert Tom Bombadil X times, where X is the fellowship’s site number, to remove a burden (limit twice per turn).
“‘Mark my words, my friends: Tom was here before the river and the trees; Tom remembers the first raindrop and the first acorn.’”
Okay, this is obviously meant for the shire, but the shire already has burden removal and should be running The Master. But, since the Each Companion is resistance +1 text is there, that makes it a lot better, especially with unbound resistance hobbits. More access to Crouched Down. Still, I would have had region number instead of site number. So, I give it a 6.
 • Bard, The Bowman
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 7
Archer. Muster. To play, spot a Man.
Archery: Exert Bard and add a threat to exert a minion; Bard does not add to the fellowship archery total. You may take the next archery action.
“‘I am Bard, of the line of Girion; I am the slayer of the dragon!’”
Greenleaf-ish only not Greenleaf. Old school is cool, but he needs a signet. . 7.5
AnxiousChieftain
 •Halbarad, Kinsman of Aragorn
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 7
Ranger. Hunter 1.
Response: If Aragorn is about to take a wound, exert Halbarad or add 2 threats to prevent that wound.
"’We seek one Aragorn son of Arathorn....’"
Nice, but no. To specific. Save Aragorn’s Life might be handy, but I wouldn’t use this guy. 4.
Nice. The only reason I would consider using Halbarad, is to gain access to this. 8.
Nice. Discard Pile twist is awesome. 8.
 •Lugdush, Raider from Isengard
Minion • Uruk-hai
Strength: 8
Vitality: 2
Site Number: 5
Hunter 1. Fierce.
Each time Lugdush wins a skirmish, you may discard an unbound Hobbit. The Free Peoples player may exert a non- companion twice to prevent this.
"’Bind their legs!’"
Nice, but to specific, he would never be used. Good idea going there, and for that, 5.5.
AC’s Average Score- 6.375
Dain’s Average Score- 7.125 |
