Enduring. Fierce.
While this minion has less than 3 vitality, it is strength +1.
While this minion is exhausted, it is damage +1.
“The spiders swelled with rage, and spluttered and frothed, and hissed out horrible curses....”

Need ways to exert them but this is a cool guy.

1 Drawing Ever Closer Green
Event • Skirmish
Spot X threats to make X Spiders strength +1 for each exhausted companion you can spot.
“...soon they would all be overpowered like weary flies. Already the spiders were beginning to weave their webs all round them again from tree to tree.”

This is one sweet event, i like the multiple minion targeting, refreshing! GP

Hey i finally caught up with whats going on in this set. Very cool idea, The Hobbit arachnids are cool!

I changed the spotting requirements of Angry Spider a bit. Good now, or too tough?

I just realized I haven’t been awarding GPs for Spider reviews as I promised I would. Embarassed I’ll try and catch up over the next hour or so, but after that, let me know if you think I missed you.

In the meantime, here’s more opportunity! Razz

Dáin’s DC Duos #182

Here’s another Spider, and a way to make these guys even stronger. Who needs enduring? Mr. Green Enjoy!

Sweet! This’d work pretty well.

Spot X threats to make X Spiders strength +1 for each exhausted companion you can spot.
“...soon they would all be overpowered like weary flies. Already the spiders were beginning to weave their webs all round them again from tree to tree.”

Needs an "until the regroup phase" and a small cost hike.

Done and done. Thanks! Thumbs Up

Dáin’s DC Duos #183

Surprise, surprise: more Spider stuff!

This time, they torment their captured prey, bundled up in tight webs and helpless to fight back. Few cultures have such direct ways to injure captured companions than the Green Spiders do. Twisted Evil Enjoy!

0 Pinching Green
Event • Maneuver
Spot a captured character in your support area and exert a Spider to exert that captured character. Then, if you cannot spot an exhausted captured companion in your support area, you may remove 2 to take this event back into your hand.
“To the fattest of these bundles the spider went...and nipped hard at the nose that stuck out.”

1 Fine Eating Green
Event • Shadow
Discard a Spider and remove (X) to wound a captured character in your support area X times.
“‘Kill’em, I say. Kill ’em now and hang ’em dead for a while.’”

If you’re unsure about what this capturing stuff is, just ask and I can PM you a description of the full concept.

Wow... nice card. And I *love* that lore. Hi-larious.

0 Fine Eating Green
Event • Shadow
Play a Spider and remove (X) to wound a captured character in your support area X times.
“‘Kill’em, I say. Kill ’em now and hang ’em dead for a while.’”
Wow. That’s a really, really powerful card. Basically, you trade the twilight it takes to play a minion (4-5) to wound a companion that many times, and what would anyone rather have, a 4-cost minion or dead companion? Needs some extra cost, methinks.

If you’re unsure about what this capturing stuff is, just ask and I can PM you a description of the full concept.

I agree with elflvr. That’s overpowered, especially in combination with pinching. 1 to kill a companion?!? Ridiculous! Maybe, "Discard 2 spiders and remove X..."

Cool beans. Thanks, guys!

Dáin’s DC Duos #184

I was going to save these for last, but I’ll go ahead and spoil them now. Shelob had a couple cool possessions, and her offspring get some nasty ones, too. Twisted Evil Enjoy!

1 Abominable Threads Green
Possession
Bearer must be a Spider.
Response: If bearer wins a skirmish, spot 2 threats and remove a threat to capture a character in that skirmish. Discard this possession.
“Something like a strong sticky string was against his left hand, and when he tried to move he found that his legs were already wrapped in the same stuff....”

3Great Strands Green
Possession
To play, spot 2 Spiders. Plays on the current site.
The fellowship may not move from this site. At the end of the turn, continue play as if the fellowship moved to the next site.
Discard this possession at the start of your Shadow phase (or if you cannot spot a Spider).
“With that he turned and found that the last space between two tall trees had been closed with a web....”

Better wipe out all those Spiders if you want to escape. Twisted Evil
