Plus, noone has any loyalty to Smeagol particularly - he doesn’t lead or inspire anyone the way Frodo, Theoden, Gandalf and Aragorn do, for example, so quite frankly, I don’t think he deserves one.

Smeagol’s pretty loyal to Smeagol...
Dain, if you’re pulling the No-Frodo-Signet rule, I’m re-submitting, too. |

Grah!
Okay, I will just add the Frodo signet to every submission whether people request it or not! THAT will fix the lot of you!
Seriously, anyone that wants to resubmit with the Frodo signet, go ahead. |

I likely won’t be on much at all tomorrow, so folks that don’t have cards in yet get a bit of a reprieve. Cards are now due tomorrow night by midnight. Again, that’s Saturday, December 8th, by midnight EST. |

I will gracefully bow out of this contest (then turn around and fall flat on my face ). I have too much going on right now with Christmas coming up and family members getting ill lately. Many thanks to Dain for making a wonderful contest! 224-225 I will watch it from the sidelines and vote when I can. Good luck to all of the remaining contestants |

Aww. Sorry to hear it, but I can relate. If you find yourself getting too stressed out about Christmas, take a step back and remember it’s supposed to be FUN, then perhaps reevaluate what REALLY needs to be done and what might be able to wait a little while. It’s so easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle.
I think you’ve proven, at least, that you can make some really good DCs. Hope to see you in future contests, including perhaps my future second one! |

With Shieldmaiden dropping out, I am torn if I should still do an elimination this round or not. I think I will still do one to keep it at an even number. So your votes count...some poor contestant is making their final stand with one of the following cards:
Entry #1:
•Sam, Worthy Halfling
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Signet: Gandalf
Ring-bound.
Skirmish: Exert Frodo twice to make Sam strength +3, and if you can spot Gandalf, Sam cannot take more than one wound this skirmish.
Skirmish: Exert Sam twice to make Frodo strength +3.
Response: If Frodo is killed, make Sam the Ring-bearer (resistance 5).
“‘The Shire must truly be a great realm, Master Gamgee, where gardeners are held in high honor.’”
Entry #2:
•Sam, Worthy Halfling
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Signet: Aragorn
Ring-bound. To play, spot a Hobbit.
Each Ring-bound companion is strength +1 and resistance +1.
Fellowship: Play a possession or artifact on Sam to heal a Ring-bound companion.
Response: If Frodo is killed while bearing The One Ring, make Sam the Ring-bearer (resistance 5).
“‘The Shire must truly be a great realm, Master Gamgee, where gardeners are held in high honor.’”
Entry #3:
•Sam, Worthy Halfling
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Signet: Frodo
Ring-bound.
Each time the fellowship moves from a forest or dwelling site, you may exert Sam to remove a burden.
Skirmish: Add a burden and exert Sam to make a Ring-bound companion strength +2 (and damage +1 if that companion is Frodo or Smeagol).
“‘The Shire must truly be a great realm, Master Gamgee, where gardeners are held in high honor.’”
Entry #4:
•Sam, Worthy Halfling
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Signet: Frodo
Ring-bound.
While you can spot a Ring-bound ranger, Sam is strength +1.
Each time the fellowship moves during the regroup phase, you may exert Sam to heal another Ring-bound companion (and remove a burden if you can spot a roaming minion).
Response: If Frodo dies, make Sam the Ring-bearer (resistance 5).
”’The Shire must truly be a great realm, Master Gamgee, where gardeners are held in high honor.’”
Entry #5:
•Sam, Honored Gardener
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Signet: Frodo
Ring-bound.
At the start of each of your fellowship phases, you may exert Sam and spot 2 other Ring-bound companions to play a possession on him from your draw deck. If that possession was not a weapon, you may draw a card.
Response: If Frodo is killed, make Sam the Ring-bearer (resistance 5).
“‘The Shire must truly be a great realm, Master Gamgee, where gardeners are held in high honor.’”
Entry #6:
•Sam, Worthy Halfling
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Signet: Aragorn
Ring-bound.
While you cannot spot an unbound companion, Sam is strength +2.
While you can spot 3 characters with the Aragorn signet, Sam cannot be overwhelmed unless his strength is tripled.
Response: If Frodo dies, makes Sam the Ring-bearer (resistance 5).
“‘The Shire must truly be a great realm, Master Gamgee, where gardeners are held in high honor.’”
Entry #7:
•Sam, Worthy Halfling
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Signet: Frodo
Ring-bound.
While you can spot Frodo, Sam is strength +1.
Skirmish: Exert Sam to reveal the top 2 cards of your draw deck. Take all events into hand and place the rest on the bottom of your draw deck in any order.
“‘The Shire must truly be a great realm, Master Gamgee, where gardeners are held in high honor.’”
Entry #8:
•Sam, Worthy Halfling
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Signet: Frodo
Ring-bound.
Sam is strength +1 for each Ring-bound Hobbit you can spot.
Each time Sam wins a skirmish, you may exert him to remove a threat or burden.
“‘The Shire must truly be a great realm, Master Gamgee, where gardeners are held in high honor.’”
Entry #9:
•Sam, Held in High Honor
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Signet: Elrond
Ring-bound.
Fellowship: Exert a Wizard to and spot a token to heal a companion.
Skirmish: Exert a Man and spot a token to prevent Sam from being overwhelmed unless his strength is tripled.
Regroup: Exert an Elf and spot an token to draw a card.
Response: If Frodo is killed, make Sam the Ring-bearer (resistance 5).
“‘The Shire must truly be a great realm, Master Gamgee, where gardeners are held in high honor.’”
Rememeber, I DID allow changing of the subtitle and lore, and I also eventually conceded on allowing the Frodo signet (which nearly all of these have ). Oh, and I DID add an Elrond signet, so don’t let that confuse you on the one entry that chose to use it.
Please vote as you have before: your favorite three. Each 1st vote is worth 3 points, each 2nd worth 2, and each 3rd worth 1. Voting deadline will be Thursday, December 13th by midnight EST. Next round, with the eight remaining contestants, will then begin Friday, and we’ll switch from every-man-for-himself to head-to-head format. |

why the gandalf signet and the frodo ability? seems he should have the frodo signet
Entry #2:

Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Signet: Aragorn
Ring-bound. To play, spot a Hobbit.

OVERPOWERED. but then again, makes ringbound rangers feasible. I am torn. if it wasn’t for tha fellowship ability I would wuv it
Entry #3:
 • Sam, Worthy Halfling
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Signet: Frodo
Ring-bound.
Each time the fellowship moves from a forest or dwelling site, you may exert Sam to remove a burden.

seems underpowered on the other hand. if the skirmish ability was one or the other it would be perfect IMHO
Entry #4:
 • Sam, Worthy Halfling
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Signet: Frodo
I like it
Entry #5:
 • Sam, Honored Gardener
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Signet: Frodo
Ring-bound.

“‘The Shire must truly be a great realm, Master Gamgee, where gardeners are held in high honor.’”
now htis has possibilities for setting up early, but with no way to get rid of him, I would say he is relegated to the dusty shelf
Entry #6:
 • Sam, Worthy Halfling
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
“‘The Shire must truly be a great realm, Master Gamgee, where gardeners are held in high honor.’”
this one works
Entry #7:
 • Sam, Worthy Halfling
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Signet: Frodo
Ring-bound.
While you can spot Frodo, Sam is strength +1.
Skirmish: Exert Sam to reveal the top 2 cards of your draw deck. Take all events into hand and place the rest on the bottom of your draw deck in any order.
“‘The Shire must truly be a great realm, Master Gamgee, where gardeners are held in high honor.’”
its funny how all the other cards work with ringbearers, while this one seems to have almost no synergy between title and lore...
Entry #8:
 • Sam, Worthy Halfling
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Signet: Frodo
Ring-bound.
Sam is strength +1 for each Ring-bound Hobbit you can spot.
Each time Sam wins a skirmish, you may exert him to remove a threat or burden.
“‘The Shire must truly be a great realm, Master Gamgee, where gardeners are held in high honor.’”
great elf warrior overshadows his first ability, but he has possibilities. if it was ring bound companion I would wuv it
Entry #9:
 • Sam, Held in High Honor
I sincerely doubt that would fit on a card....
