Moving onto another orb that never got a card (much to my disappointment):

0 • Elessar Elven
Artifact
Bearer must be Aragorn.
Each time the fellowship moves, you may add 2 to reinforce a Free Peoples token.
Then Aragorn took the green stone and held it up, and there came a green fire from his hand.

And on a similar theme of both tokens and Aragorn’s trappings:

0 • Ring of Barahir, Heirloom of the North Gondor
Artifact • Ring
Bearer must be Aragorn.
Maneuver: Remove 2 Free Peoples tokens to make a companion strength +1 and defender +1 until the regroup phase (limit twice per phase).
’Little do I resemble the figures of Elendil and Isiuldur as they stand carven in their majesty in the halls of Denethor. I am but the heir of Isildur, not Isildur himself.’

Sweet and simple.

Id add a limit otherwise youll never get a minion on the RB. Cool though.

By the way, the Elessar is the Elfstone that gave Aragorn his elvish name - hence ’Elessar Telcontar’ (’Telcontar’ means ’Strider’). In the Fourth Age he is always known as King Elessar because of it. It was either made by Celebrimbor who gave it to Galadriel in the Second Age, or it was made by a smith in Gondolin and brought to Galadriel out of the West by Gandalf - not even Tolkien was sure which story was correct.

As we’re leading in so nicely to the fellowship, let’s now begin my own interpretation of the Nine Walkers and the Fellowship keyword, though I’ll start with a revamp of the Age’s End ring:

Ring • The One Ring, The Great Ring
While wearing The One Ring, each time bearer is about to take a wound, add a burden instead.
Maneuver: Wear The One Ring until the regroup phase.
Skirmish: If the Ring-bearer is wearing The One Ring, add a burden to make him or her strength +2.

I was trying to do two things with the Nine Walkers. The first is to make them all work together as a viable strategy (crazy I know!). The second was to make them as much like their original versions as possible. Therefore, this one is mostly inspired by Frodo, Old Bilbo’s Heir.

2 • Frodo, First of the Nine Walkers Shire
Companion • Hobbit
Str: 3
Vit: 4
(Res): 10
Fellowship. Ring-bound.
At the start of the fellowship phase, you may add 1 to heal another fellowship companion.
’I think that this task is appointed for you, Frodo; and that if you do not find a way, no one will.’

When thinking about these fellowship cards, it’s also worth noting the first card on the first page of this thread.

Thank god its not broken anymore but slightly underpowered, how about hunter 2? After all the original is only really broke with hobbits, this way i doubt it would ever be used with any ARB’s.

I doubt the current version would be used with any ARB, RoR is just too good for them. I think it works as is as; if it’s a hobbit with low strength, their burden removal makes up for it, and if it’s an ARB with low burden removal, their strength should make up for it.

I agree with lem0n, if not his reasoning: the Ring would be better giving hunter 2, or perhaps even strength +2.

Frodo is fine. Good card. Thumbs Up

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

Thanks guys, I’ve changed the ring to strength +2.

Now there are no prizes for guessing who this next card is based on. Although his ability is obviously still very powerful, I put some limiting on it on the hope that it would be balanced.

2 • Sam, Second of the Nine Walkers Shire
Companion • Hobbit
Str: 3
Vit: 4
Res: 9
Fellowship. Ring-bound.
While Sam bears The One Ring, he is resistance -4.
Fellowship: Spot 4 fellowship companions and exert Sam to remove a burden.
Response: If Frodo is killed, make Sam the Ring-bearer.
’But you won’t send him off alone surely, Master?’

Interesting. He works in a rainbow fellowship, obviously, but since there are four fellowship Hobbits, he can be a Shire-only guy, too. And one that would give Great Elf Warrior some real competition!

Personally, I think Son of Hamfast should be off the X-list, or at least moved to the R-list. But I think this is a good compromise. Thumbs Up
