I’ll handle the Chieftain if you all can give me until tomorrow to take care of him. Rorin gets easy damage bonuses...I should be able to finish it off in one good skirmish.

Ryle should be able to take somebody out too, perhaps a Spectre. That leaves...uh...seven other minions for the other eight members of the party, not including Curubethion. I think we can handle this.

CG, mind giving us a party status like you did before, with our current stats?

Also, can we make use of events we made for the last challenge? I’m going to assume yes unless I hear otherwise.
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

Sorry, I forgot to include a party status. I’ll edit that into the post.

And yes, you can use all DCs made in the Adventure so far. Which includes your events. Assume that they "bounce" back into your hand, miraculously. Wink

Does the magic bounce replace our DC for this turn, or do we get both?
Never kid about politicians. The more bizarre the joke, the more likely it is to come true.

Legoles was half-startled to see three spectres, but reacted quickly, pulling his bow and 2 arrows from his quiver, he shot one spectre it became enraged, and charged on him quickly he dodged it’s blow and fired another arrow into it’s heart,, the spectre began to shake all over and then disenagrated, Legoles quickly looked around to see if he could help someone else.

1 Great Shot Elven
Event - Archery
Spot 3 Elves to wound a minion (or a Wraith minion twice)

Hmmm... Since CG kindly made this a forest, I can take out a Searching Spectre without using a skirmish event. So, here’s my event:

1 Forest Sentinels Elven
Event*Maneuver
If the fellowship is at a forest site, spot 3 Elves to make all copies of a non-unique minion lose their gametext until the regroup phase.
Taken by surprise, the prey of Thranduil’s or Galadriel’s scouts rarely had time to react.

And I’m going to use that on the Howling Wargs. Damage +1 and fierce is a big no-no.

Celebthir fired at one of the shrouded shapes, then went to intercept it, kicking up dust in the eyes of the wargs as he ran. They snapped at him, but his Elven reflexes were more than adequate to dodge. The shape looked all to familiar, like one of the haunted creatures that still inhabited Dol Guldur. Forcing back a shudder of disgust, Celebthir put an arrow through its head at point-blank range. "I’m not going to dirty my knife on such scum," he muttered. Then he looked quickly around, ensuring that his companions were not in need of great assistance.

Celebthir shoots Shrouded Spectre
Celebthir 6/2/7
Spectre 5/1/2 (8 -1(wounded) -1(forest) -1(site text) =5)
Celebthir passes
Spectre passes
Spectre takes a wound and dies.

Dirthon stared at the wispy figures approaching Curubethion. The growl of a warg brought him to his senses. Unsheathing his sword, he leaped in front of Curubethion.

2 Courage of Numenor Gondor
Event • Maneuver
Spot a Gondor ranger to make each companion strength +1 until the regroup phase.

A shadowy shape loomed out of the mist in front of him. With a mighty stroke, he brought his blade down on the phantom’s head. With a blood-chilling screech, the figure dissolved into thin air.

1 Sword Strike Gondor
Event • Skirmish
Make a Gondor companion bearing a hand weapon strength +3 and damage +1 (and gain hunter 1 if skirmishing a roaming minion).

Plays Courage of Numenor, Dirthon 9/2/7, plays Sword Strike, 12/2/7 and damage +1.
Searching Spectre, 7/2/2 pass.
Searching Spectre takes 2 wounds and dies.

Dirthon, 9/2/7, 1 wound.

Dain-Ryle: 5/5/8-one wound

A very minor note, but Ryle’s event required two exertions, so unless you healed him for "winning" the last challenge, he’s actually 5/4/8.

Working on Rorin’s section. I’m holding off on Ryle until I hear back from a PM I sent BattleWarg.

2 Courage of Numenor Gondor
Event • Maneuver
Spot 3 minions to make a Gondor companion gain defender +1 until the regroup phase.

Dirthon 8/2/7, plays Sword Strike, 11/2/7 and damage +1.
Searching Spectre, 7/2/2 pass.
Searching Spectre takes 2 wounds and dies.

A growl behind Dirthon made him spin around. A warg was crouched down, ready to spring. The beast leaped toward Dirthon, but the ranger’s sword cut into the warg’s leg. With a cry, the hideous creature turned and ran into the shadows.

Dirthon, 8/2/7 pass.
Howling Warg, 7/3/2 pass.
Howling Warg takes a wound, 7/2/2.

Dirthon, 8/2/7, 1 wound.

Er, AP, when you’re defender +1, you fight them both at once; i.e., add their strengths together.

My mistake. I threw that together too fast. I’ll edit it. Thumbs Up

An evil warg is mine. The site and cheiftain’s bonuses/subtractions cancel, so right now I beat the minion stright off. But I have a manevuer event.

On to the RP-ing, though...

Silvarin rushed toward the first enemy he saw, a fearsome warg. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the dwarf heading at one of the largest wargs, and the specters being beaten back as well.

The warg howled as he rushed toward it. Silvarin was not startled, but he knew it would be a good idea to weaken the warg before taking it head on. He raised his left hand and began to mutter in the elven tounge. An emerald-colored sphere of light sprang from his palm and smote the warg in the chest. Drawing his sword, he dealt the warg a killing blow.

Silvarin slumped against a tree, weakened by his use of magic. He wiped his brow, and headed back into the vicious melee.

2 Burst of Light Elven
Event * Maneuver
Spell.
Exert an elf to wound a minion (or wound that minion twice if it is a Wraith minion).

So, I play Burst of Light, exerts Silvarin. Warg is now 7/1/3.
Silvarin has 9, with possession and hunter. Warg takes a wound and dies.

Silvarin is left with 8/2/7
