Excellent idea, KiE. GP I’ll do that!
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

Okay, I may touch on Eagles again in a bit, but right now I don’t any finalized cards to show, so let’s switch to Gandalf Men, and a race that has never appeared in the Gandalf culture...until now! Very Happy Enjoy!

1Barliman Butterbur, Worthy Innkeeper Gandalf
Ally • Home 1 • Man
Strength: 4
Vitality: 2
To play, spot a Gandalf companion.
Fellowship: Each time you are about to draw a card, if the top card of your discard pile is a Gandalf card (except a character), you may exert Barliman Butterbur (or spot 2 Gandalf Hobbits and add 1) to draw that card instead.
“‘He thinks less than he talks, and slower; yet he can see through a brick wall in time (as they say in Bree).’”
nice maybe give him 3 vitality

2Nob, Woolly-Footed Slowcoach Gandalf
Ally • Home 1 • Hobbit
Strength: 2
Vitality: 3
While you can spot Barliman Butterbur, Nob’s twilight cost is -1.
Fellowship: Exert Nob to heal a Hobbit or a Gandalf Man ally.
Regroup: Discard a Shire or Gandalf possession from play or from hand to heal Nob.
“A cheery-looking hobbit bobbed out of a door, and seeing the travelers, stopped short and stared at them with great interest.”
nice

1Bob, Ostler Gandalf
Ally • Home 1 • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 3
To play, spot Barliman Butterbur or Nob.
Fellowship: If you can spot 3 other Hobbits, you may play Bill the Pony from your draw deck or discard pile.
Regroup: Exert Bob to play a Free Peoples mount from your discard pile.
“‘A poor old half-starved creature it is, but he won’t part with it for less than thrice its worth, seeing how you’re placed, not if I knows Bill Ferny.’”
nice

1 Bree-Hobbit Gandalf
Ally • Home 1 • Hobbit
Strength: 2
Vitality: 2
To play, spot 2 Gandalf Men or a Gandalf Hobbit.
Each time you play another Gandalf companion or Hobbit, heal this ally.
Maneuver: Exert this ally to heal a Gandalf Man or a Hobbit.
“But most of them had natural names, such as Banks, Brockhouse, Longholes, Sandheaver, and Tunnelly....There were several Underhills from Saddle, and as they could not imagine sharing a name without being related, they took Frodo to their hearts as a long-lost cousin.”

interesting...
nice allies!

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. Razz

If I do that, I’m going to want to raise his cost to 2. That okay by you?

Thanks for the review, SoP. Knew I could count on you. Thumbs Up

What kind of band do you mean, out of curiosity?

Another foursome of Gandalf characters today, including some companions this time. Hope you like the synergy between these guys (and Barliman). Enjoy!

3Hugin, Consel of the Lakemen Gandalf
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 7
When played in your starting fellowship, Hugin’s twilight cost is -1.
Each time a Free Peoples card (except a character) is about to be discarded, you may exert Hugin to place that card on the bottom of your draw deck instead.
A former warrior and official counselor to the Master of Laketown, he had become one of his lands’ most respected emissaries.

2Ottar, Esgaroth Patrician Gandalf
Companion • Man
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
Each time you are about to draw a card, you may exert Ottar (or spot 2 other Gandalf Men and add 1) to draw a card from the bottom of your draw deck instead.
“‘Nowhere are there any men so friendly to us as the Men of Dale. They are good folk, the Bardings.’”

2Dasron, Tradesman of Rhûn Gandalf
Ally • Home 3 [FotR] • Man
Strength: 4
Vitality: 3
To play, spot a Gandalf Man.
When you play Dasron, you may reinforce a Free Peoples token.
Fellowship: Exert Dasron twice (or exert him once and remove a Free Peoples token) and discard a card from hand to place a Gandalf card from your discard pile on the bottom of your draw deck.
The men of the Long Lake has long been involved in trading (in particular food and drink) to Erebor and the Wood-elves of Mirkwood.

1Riduan, Man of Dale Gandalf
Ally • Home 3 [FotR] & 8 [LA] • Man
Strength: 2
Vitality: 3
To play, spot Gandalf or a Gandalf Man.
Maneuver: Exert Riduan and discard a card from hand to draw a card. If you draw a card of the same culture as the card you discarded, you may reveal it to heal a character of that culture.
King Brand of Dale was very interested in rumors of a hobbit in Rivendell, perhaps the same that a rider in black had sought from the king.

I hope the "theme" of these guys is apparent. Very Happy These make up the first example of the "alternate fellowships" that run rampant throughout this set. The majority of the characters from the Council of Elrond have companion versions in this set, and those of the same culture/race work well together. There will be small groups of Elven Elves, Green Elves, and Dwarves from the Council that work closely with each other and share the same theme with each other...just like these Gandalf Men. Should be fun. Smile

consel? do you mean counsel? or consul? just make it once and cut the gandalf or dwarven card thing. it isn’t that sweet of an ability.

2Ottar, Esgaroth Patrician Gandalf
Companion • Man
Strength: 4
Vitality: 3
If Ottar is unwounded, each time you are about to draw a card, you may exert Ottar (or spot 2 other Gandalf Men and add 1) to draw a card from the bottom of your draw deck instead.
“‘Nowhere are there any men so friendly to us as the Men of Dale. They are good folk, the Bardings.’”
overcosted. give him another strength.

2Dasron, Tradesman of Rhûn Gandalf
Ally • Home 3 [FotR] • Man
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
To play, spot a Gandalf Man.
When you play Dasron, you may reinforce a Free Peoples token.

to many parentheses. cut the except a character or follower

1Riduan, Man of Dale Gandalf

Interesting. I’m not sure about his twilight reduction, though. Most of the Gandalf men are cost 2, so you could start three with this guy.

2Ottar, Esgaroth Patrician Gandalf

Nice. Like SoP said, you could probably vut the second set of ().

1Riduan, Man of Dale Gandalf
Ally • Home 3 [FotR] & 8 [LA] • Man
Strength: 2

To play, spot Gandalf or a Gandalf Man.
Maneuver: Exert Riduan and discard a card from hand to draw a card. If you draw a card of the same culture as the card you discarded, you may heal a character of that culture.

Never kid about politicians. The more bizarre the joke, the more likely it is to come true.
