The Ring drew Silvar’s attention to the ranger looking at him. Silvar smiled back, a dark, evil smile, and drew his short sword. He closed his hand around it, and drew it down, cutting his own palm. Then, smearing his fingers with the blood, he drew a ring on his other hand, his right palm. Still smiling, he ran forward to walk alongside Gagnut, his demeanor now pleasant once more.

Even though the cut was shallow, and would soon heal, and the bloodied blade was back in its sheath, the ranger would never forget the look he saw in the little hobbit’s eyes.

Telmonar was torn between the opinions of the Company. Moria? Past Isengard? Rohan? Gondor? Which route should we take?
Standing to his full height, Telmonar spoke. "I think that we should lead the Company through Moria. The other ways are dark, and could result in our peril even greater than that of Moria."
I had to put something here.

"I hate the dark, I’m also clauserphobic, and necrophobic. How far away can we be from isenguard without going through moria, someone get me a map."

Telmonar spoke. "I have not extensively travelled this area," he said. "Tandros will know." The ranger turned his gaze to the Wizard. Tandros sat silently, smoke puffs coming in a steady pattern from his weathered pipe. "Tandros?" Telmonar asked. "What route should we take?"

The wizard spoke.

"Moria. The dangers there are less than what we would face should we attempt to walk right under Saruman’s nose. At least, so I hope..." He cast a knowing glance at Dunaglar. The ranger gave a slight nod, apparently catching Tandros’s meaning.

The Ring whispered in Silvar’s ear. He had been about to speak out, to try to lead the company to Sauron’s servant, Saruman, but the Ring took his voice before he could say anything.

Saruman knows of my coming. He will send his servants to take me before the company gets to Emen Muil. Besides, there are great perils in Moria... that could end this fellowship once and for all.

Silvar listened intently, as the Ring drew out its plot.

"Yes, master," he said, and smiled.

Telmonar agreed with Tandros; the route through Moria was the best choice. Dunaglar seemed almost unwilling to go, yet the vote of the Company was against him. Boin was overjoyed.

"Just wait, my friend," he said to Dunaglar. "Soon you will enjoy true Dwarven hospitality, that which rivals even the feast of Lord Elrond."
I had to put something here.

"How would you know the way to go, Silvar, since when have you been an expert on hiding from evil?"

"ummm... I never said anything... I’m just agreeing with the wizard," Silvar said, looking away quickly.

Telmonar stared at Silvar. He had been acting strange lately. Telmonar noticed a deep cut on his hand, and wondered where it had come from; Silvar had not taken a wound against the band of Orcs. Silvar looked up at the ranger, blinking in the sunlight. Telmonar stared down at the Hobbit.
"Well, little one, you are safe," he said.

Silvar looked up and smiled sweetly. "Thank you, mighty ranger!" He said, in an almost childish voice.

He turned away, and when the ranger could not hear, he whispered, "Although you may not be..."
