I think the armour is fine - only one of those abilities and it wouldn’t have been good enough (who uses that Shire armour for example?) but both of them together makes a solid card.

Blade is nice, but I think I’d just give it a straight damage bonus.

2 Knight’s Blade Gondor

Strength +2
Bearer must be a Gondor Man.
Each minion skirmishing bearer is strength -1 for each fortification borne by that minion.
Skirmish: If bearer is a knight, add 1 to make him or her damage +1. Limit once per skirmish.
Gondorian swords are heavy and powerful, and while very simple, are remarkably effective in the hands of Gondor’s stout defenders.
I do think that is a TAD to much on one card. make the first ability each minion skirmish bearer, if bearer is a knight(with correct wording Wink) and cut the second or cut the 1st

2 Gondorian Armor Gondor
Possession • Armor
Bearer must be a Gondor knight.
Each minion skirmishing bearer is strength -1.
Bearer may take no more than 1 wound per phase.
Though hastily constructed as the war increasingly engulfed Gondor, the armor worn by many of their soldiers helped keep the defenders standing against the onslaught.

cool! boy if you have a shield and a nice sword and a cloak...and wow lots of possessions fast.

Mixed opinions on the Blade--some think it’s too weak and others think it’s too strong--so I’ll do what I always do when that happens: assume it’s a happy medium as it is now and leave it alone. Razz

I wasn’t planning on doing much more with Gondor stealth, I really wasn’t, but I was looking back over my cards and remembered this one that I already posted:

0 Walking Unseen Gondor
Event • Maneuver
Stealth.
If the fellowship is in region 2 or 3, spot a Ring-bound companion (except the Ring-bearer) to play a ranger from hand; that ranger’s twilight cost is -1. If the fellowship is at a forest site, you may then exert a roaming minion.
“At once four men came striding through the fern from different directions....flight and hiding were no longer possible....”

This got me thinking of the potential for a mini-theme. Check these new ones out and let me know what you think. Smile Enjoy!

1 Hushed Voices Gondor
Event • Maneuver
Stealth.
Play a ranger from hand. His or her twilight cost is -1 for each of the following that is true: the fellowship is at a forest or river site; the fellowship is at a sanctuary; you can spot a roaming minion.
“There was no doubt of the voices. They were speaking low and furtively, but they were near, and coming nearer.”

Now, not only do you get the benefit of playing rangers AFTER minions are already on the table (and potentially after a double-move), but now you can play them CHEAP, too. Granted, you have to meet at least two of these conditions before you get a bonus (since the card costs 1 initially), but seeing as how you can get as much as a -2 cost with a little planning, I think it’s worth it.

Especially when combined with this:

2Still and Watchful Gondor
Condition • Support Area
Stealth.
Each time you play a ranger or play a Gondor possession on a ranger, you may exert a roaming minion.
Regroup: Discard this condition to take a Gondor stealth card into hand from your discard pile.
“Sam, crouched by the edge of the fern-brake, peered out. With his keen hobbit-eyes he saw that many more Men were about....armed like Faramir and his companions.”

After initial reviews, I made this unique and added the discard ability. Even I like it better now. Smile

Here’s one more sneaky one:

1 Into Deeper Shade Gondor
Condition • Support Area
Stealth.
Regroup:
Return a Gondor ranger, and any number of Free Peoples cards on him or her, to your hand to discard a roaming minion. Discard this condition.
“Before long they had all passed and vanished. The sun rose till it neared the South. The shadows shrank.”

Useful enough by itself, but certainly FAR more useful when combined with the above cards.

I guess

personally I think it could cost 0 like above,,,

I think unique and cut cost to 1

I still think this is too good. You get a companion after the Shadow phase for -1 cost without even paying for them to move, and on top of that you exert a minion.

Even if it wouldn’t make much difference, conditions like this scream ’unique’ at you. Maybe you could make it unique and then add on a good discard ability? Actually, I think it should have a discarding ability (like recurring your stealth events - DEFINITELY) and then it would be more worth its cost.

Interesting, but not particularly useful with the cards above as it adds hand clog and yet another event for your deck. Perhaps as a condition it would be better, or as an ability tagged onto one of the events above instead of being a separate card.

Okay, tweaked Still and Watchful as recommended and turned Into Deeper Shade into a condition, so it doesn’t clog your hand as much (a good point by Thran). Better now?

Seems a mechanism not in keeping with the fairness of the game. Play companions: give out pool: play minions to stop those companion. Its a cycle. This is just cheating! You should have to exert someone or do something to offset the pool denial.

Should be phrased return to hand etc.. Not bad.

I understand your concern, but I think the hand clog makes it okay. I mean, you have to hold ranger AND this card in your hand to pull it off, and there are some nasty things the Shadow player could do during the Shadow phase that could eliminate one or both of those cards entirely. I think it balances out alright...I really do.
