Cool. Here’s another, then. You probably don’t remember the event A Quite Unexpected Direction, but this is a counter to it. Enjoy!
A Quite Expected Direction
Event • Response
Search. Toil 1.
If the fellowship moves to a forest site or moves from a dwelling, spot a Nazgûl to add for each Nazgûl you can spot.
“‘But that can only mean going into the Old Forest! You can’t be thinking of doing that. It is quite as dangerous as Black Riders.’”
Eh, what the heck. Here’s the one too, for those who haven’t been reviewing long enough to have seen it the first time.
A Quite Unexpected Direction
Event • Response
Stealth. Toil 1.
If the fellowship moves to a forest site or moves from a dwelling, assign X exertions to Hobbit companions to make a Shadow player take X minions back into hand.
“‘But I am not going by road: it would be safer to wait here than that. If I go through the North-gate my departure from Buckland will be known at once, instead of being secret for several days at least, as it might be.’” |
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones
Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

Very interesting, although the use is limited, being that you only use it with a double. But a good counter. |

Bingo. It’s a pure double-move discourager. As long as you think it’s successful in that, I’m happy. |

Thanks for the reviews, all. Here’s a couple more that are basically new ways of doing OLD cards. Enjoy!
Hope Faded
Event • Shadow
Search.
Spot a mounted Nazgûl with X vitality to reveal up to X cards from the top of your draw deck. Take each card revealed into hand and discard the rest.
“There seemed no chance of reaching the Ford before he was cut off by the others that had lain in ambush.”
Nazgûl telepathy? Not quite. This is inspired by an old-OLD-school search card, The Master’s Will. I wanted to just "reprint" it, as I’ve done with a handful of other cards in my sets (like Rider’s Spear and Hobbit Sword), but I decided to put a new twist on it instead.
Fear of Discovery
Event • Maneuver
Search.
Exert a mounted or hunter Nazgûl to make the opponent choose to either exert 2 companions or make the Ring-bearer put on The One Ring until the regroup phase.
“He hardly dared to breathe, and yet the desire to get it out of his pocket became so strong that he began slowly to move his hand. He felt that he had only to slip it on, and then he would be safe.”
Simply a version of Saruman’s Reach, which I always thought was a neat card. |

Really cool, but possibly outshines resistance becomes unbearable.

Hmmm. How about if I limit it to hunter Nazgûl and mounted Nazgûl? Then both this and Resistance Becomes Unbearable (ALSO a really neat card ) have their uses. |

I would raise the cost to .
