I must question your guy’s votes of B. B refers to abilites that the troll has when at an underground site. Whereas [as denizen means "inhabitant"] the troll inhabits the Black Lands, where there are no underground or at least no famous [monumental] underground places. It’s like a  Man gaining bonuses from a forest site. It just doesn’t make sense.

the black lands refers to mordor and much of mordor (including mount doom itself) is underground. |

the orc camp near mount doom had literally thousands of orcs near it, Trolls must have been in this camp as well bc the job of tending to trolls was given to the orcs. so basically, where there are orcs, there are trolls!  |

yes, they work the large machinery that is underground. (as well as the large machinery above ground )
