Cool that youve explained why he doesnt do anything so he can be free but make him 6/3 or 5/4, he needs something. Poor Ori
 • Dáin Ironfoot, Dwarven Lord

Damage +1.
While Dáin Ironfoot is unwounded, the twilight cost of each tale and artifact is -1.
Skirmish: Exert Dáin Ironfoot and discard a tale to make a Dwarf strength +1 and damage +1 until the regroup phase.
“There now Dáin son of Náin took up his abode, and he became King under the Mountain, and in time many other dwarves gathered to his throne in the ancient halls.”
This is a cool card.
 • Thorin, Descendant of Kings

Damage +1.
While you can spot a companion with the Thorin signet, Thorin’s twilight cost is -1.
While the fellowship is at a battleground, mountain, or underground site, each Dwarf and companion with the Thorin signet gains hunter 1.
Each time you play a tale, you may heal a companion with the Thorin signet.
“‘I am Thorin son of Thráin son of Thrór King under the Mountain! I return!’”
Cool synergy for the tale thingy, id remove the "battleground" bit so its just underground and mountain and then looks cool.

Made a recommended change to Thorin, but I think I’d rather leave Ori as he is. I think a free 5/3 is powerful enough, and a free 6/3 or 5/4 companion would probably be a bit much.
Thanks for the speedy reviews! Anyone else? |

Good catch, but that no longer holds true in my sets. You’ll see what I mean soon.
Thanks for the review! Now I feel comfortable moving on. |

Dáin’s DC Duos #192
So far, looking at JUST Thorin and his company (Dáin), we’ve got 14 unique Dwarves in the set, and when you count the multiple versions of some of them, there’s a total of 22 cards already devoted to Dwarven companions! Never before have Dwarves gotten such love in one set...and we’re far from done.
The culture is vast in Lasting Alliances, smaller than only the FP/Shadow combined culture. We have a long ways to go...and believe it or not, that includes MORE Dwarves.
First, though, let’s get into some of their possessions, including one I’ve already teased with Glóin. Enjoy!
Dwarf Cloak
Possession • Cloak
To play, spot a Dwarf. Bearer must be a Dwarf or Hobbit.
Bearer may not have their strength reduced by weather conditions.
Response: If a weather card is about to make bearer exert, place no token for that exertion. Limit once per turn.
“...Bilbo was wearing a dark-green hood (a little weather-stained) and a dark-green cloak borrowed from Dwalin.”
As you’ve seen if you’ve been following the Duos for a while, cloaks are big again in my sets, especially with the return of weather cards. This is a perfect example.
Tinder-box
Possession • Box
Resistance +1
To play, spot 2 Dwarves. Bearer must be an unbound companion.
Fellowship: Discard this possession and add to remove a burden.
Regroup: Discard this possession and add X threats to heal X companions.
“Dwarves have never taken to matches even yet.”
Glóin, Skilled Fire-starter can pull one of these when you play him, and for free, too! But even when played normally, this is quite a handy little possession. I love versatility, and so I love making cards like this. Hope you like it too. |
