I was testing a bit with it due to Greater Gargadon not having trample (it IS an issue), but every green player (and there’s a lot of them) are playing Riftsweeper, so I’m not expecting Gargadons to come online anymore in matches when they usually have chump blockers, and if they DO come online, I’m playing Rough//Tumble on my sideboard to get rid of their early threats, so it basically plays the same role. Also, peeling off time counters is not an issue, as the deck does it really fast anyway. Gargadons are not really the MAIN game plan, it’s more of a rush&burn style of deck. Gargadons are good specially against controls, since if they play Tendrils of Corruption with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth out I’m doomed ’cause they’ll gain a TON of life WHILE taking out one of my threats. With a suspended Gargadon, they’re always on the tight defensive (it can come online anytime), and I get to sac a creature in response to the Tendrils targetting, denying them the lifegain. |

Hey, maybe Stalking Vengeance! Instead of obliterating a cheap 1/1 creature, sacrifice him for another Gargadon and then deal 9 damage to the target player (or more if you have multiple Stalking Vengeance out).
Not to mention that sacrificing all those Mogg War Marshal w/ tokens start to deal damage, and then if you want sacrifice Stalking Vengeance itself to peel off a token and deal 5 damage (provided, of course, you have multiple in play). |

You KNOW this PTQ was Block format, right? Boy, did you like STalking Vengeance or what? Pet card or not, stick it in a TS Block deck, and you’re sure to earn a DQ! |

Btw, did you know Stalking Vengeance was being used in competitive T2 decks, as a new kill condition for Dredge decks before the rotation? |

Fatal Frenzy is block, actually. And I’m currently working on a T2 red deck wins, the moment morningtide becomes available on MWS to work with, seems good. |
