SoP, you do realize that Combat Archer is an exact copy of Knife-work except that it plays in the assignment phase? Wink Still like the concept, though.

Drake (or anyone else looking for a last-minute event idea): you can always do something that finishes off minions in regroup, as NB suggested, or something that helps other party members. Again, regroup would probably be best there, since most everyone has resolved actions from previous phases, but it’s not necessary. Perhaps some healing? Everyone could use some of that. Or removing the couple of threats we’ve added, perhaps.

So have all sections thus far been finalized? Is the Warg Chieftain wounded once or twice once Rorin gets to him? Once I know, I’ll tweak my section a little to reflect how grevious the pre-existing wounds are.

Alright, here we go. I wanted to get rid of that last wrag, so:

As the Wargs approached, circling their ragged little group, Ectheow held his axe higher and laughed as the rest of the company lunged forward to fight them.

They seemed to be fighting off the creatures effectively enough, Ectheow thought as he sat down to watch the fray, keeping his axe near in case someone should require his aid. No-one did. For once, it seemed, he was among both competent and skilled fighters.

After the skrimishing had ended, Ectheow caught sight of one of the Wargs slinking off, trying to make away. Possibly, these had just been a test of strength. If so, then no message ought to get back to the Dark Powers. And no message was a strong signal.

Ectheow leapt after the warg.

2 Northman Pursuit Rohan
Event - Regroup
Spot a Rohan companion and a wounded minion to suspend the current phase and begin a skirmish between that companion and minion. If that companion wins this skirmish, you may heal him or her or remove a threat.
The blood fueds of the Northmen against the Shadow knew no end.

The Warg tried to scamper away as Ectheow’s axe split it down the spine.

"No messages to the Dark One tonight, Little Wolf," he said, wiping his axe on the warg’s fur.

"I’m going to sleep," he announced to the rest of the company. "Wake me later for a turn as watch if you want, Master Ranger, but for now, I’m out."

Regroup:
Ectheow plays Northman Pusuit to skirmish Darting Warg
Ectheow and warg both pass.
Ectheow kills warg
Ectheow removes a threat. (How many do we have now?)

We’ve evened out now.

Baruk Sigin-tarag is the only one that’s added a threat (site 2), and this removes that one.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised we came out so well, and with events that don’t seem overpowered, too! (Heh, Rorin’s is probably the closest one of all to being overpowered. Rolling Eyes) When I first saw that huge list of minions, I thought we were in big trouble.

So, what next, fearless leader? Healing and mingling? And when do we find out more about what this whole quest is about?

Well, yeah, 9 minions is bad, but when you’ve got 11 companions... (including 3 archers able to assign their own wounds)

And your hand is whatever cards you want it to be (and make them up as we go).


It’s generally not too bad. Imagine a ’real’ game where you can play with 11 companions, start them all and can pick cards out of all possible as you play. (Actually, I suppose both sides get to, so that might be kind of fun...)



And I believe that all the wounds were exerting. (Although it’s above what we had last time)
