1The Balrog’s Sword, Stabbing Tongue of Fire Moria
Artifact • Hand Weapon
Strength +3
Bearer must be The Balrog.
This weapon may be borne in addition to 1 other hand weapon and may be played any time you could play a skirmish event.
At the start of each skirmish involving The Balrog, you may remove a burden or discard this weapon to wound each companion in that skirmish.

Ive seen this before havent i? Very Happy Seeing as i voted it second i think its great!

1Whip of Many Thongs, Shrouded in Fire Moria
Artifact • Hand Weapon
Bearer must be The Balrog.
It is fierce and gains hunter 1.
When this weapon is played or discarded, you may exert a companion (except for the Ring-bearer).
“With a bound the Balrog leaped full upon the bridge. Its whip whirled and hissed.”

Yeah sound.

Pair this with Demon of the Ancient World’s ability to play during the maneuver phase for some real fun. Twisted Evil

Nice. I’d add the traditional damage +1 bonus.

Good point NB.
Watch out, Dain. All you need for your whip to be completely broken is a card that discards Moria weapons (or artifacts) as the cost of an ability. Then you would have an infinite loop on your hands, as you discard the whip, play it back with plundered armories, then keep doing it exerting 2 companions each time.

Not to mention the ability that requires discarding a possession. Does he already have one?

Luckily it’s not a possession, it’s an artifact.

Duly noted on the dangers with Whip of Many Thongs, Shrouded in Fire. I think it’s okay since, as Thran said, there’s no way to discard it when you feel like it right now.

At lem0n’s request, but my reluctance, I’m abandoning The Balrog for now and going backwards to some Moria minions the fellowship encountered before they ever entered Moria, or even encountered the Watcher. Once lem0n’s current contest is over, we’ll get back to Ol’ Balgy. For now, enjoy these! Smile

2 Howling Warg Moria
Minion • Warg
Strength: 5
Vitality: 2
Site: 3
Tracker. Hunter 1.
This minion may not bear possessions.
Shadow: Discard a Moria condition or remove 2 Moria tokens to play this minion from hand; its twilight cost is -2.
“‘The wolf that one hears is worse than the orc that one fears.’”

3 Foul Warg Moria
Minion • Warg
Strength: 8
Vitality: 2
Site: 3
Tracker. Fierce. Hunter 1.
This minion may not bear possessions.
When you play this minion, you may exert it to exert a companion (or wound a companion skirmishing a Moria Warg or mounted Moria minion).
Skirmish: Remove 1 to play this minion from hand.
“...there was a howling and wailing round them in the empty spaces of the night.”

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

Youre a good man Dain!

Nice, do you think 2 tokens would make it more balanced as i dont know how easy it is for moria to get tokens. But any other race would find that quite easy for a free minion.

Nice, make it unbound companion, potentially being able to kill the rb with this is just wrong!

I would drop the hunter bonus to 1. Thumbs Up

I have the same worries as lem0n and AP, about both the token and the hunter bonus.

I think I’d give it a cost to play in the skirmish phase, then maybe wound a companion skirmishing a Moria minion (or Moria Warg) so that there’s a point to playing him in the shadow phase (strength 8 and fighting twice means that he will die mercilessly if you do, by making a cost to play him in the skirmish phase it becomes a choice).

Okay, I made recommended changes to the last guys. Good now?

And here’s a couple more. Enjoy!

3 Snarling Warg Moria
Minion • Warg
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Site: 3
Tracker. Fierce.
To play, spot a Moria Warg. This minion may not bear possessions.
This minion is strength +1 for each Moria condition you can spot with a token on it.
“Without warning a storm of howls broke out fierce and wild all about the camp.”

5Great Wolf-Chieftain Moria
Minion • Warg
Strength: 9
Vitality: 3
Site: 4
Tracker. Fierce. Hunter 1.
Great Wolf-Chieftain may not bear possessions.
The twilight cost of each other Moria Warg is -1.
Skirmish: Exert Great Wolf-Chieftain to play a Moria Warg from hand. That Warg is strength +2 until the regroup phase.
“At a gap in the circle a great dark wolf-shape could be seen halted, gazing at them. A shuddering howl broke from him, as if he were a captain summoning his pack to the assault.”
