Stealth.
If the fellowship moves to a forest site or moves from a dwelling, assign X exertions to Hobbit companions to make each Shadow player take X minions back into hand.
“‘But I am not going by road: it would be safer to wait here than that. If I go through the North-gate my departure from Buckland will be known at once, instead of being secret for several days at least, as it might be.’”
Very cool idea! Nice card! |
I had to put something here. |

Good call, SoP. Thanks!
Here’s a couple cards that really help out Hobbit-heavy fellowships. Enjoy!
•Trust To Friendship
Condition • Support Area
When you play this condition, add a token here for each companion you can spot (limit 3).
Response: If a Hobbit is about to be overwhelmed, remove 2 tokens from here (or discard this condition) to wound that Hobbit instead.
Fellowship: Discard this condition to heal a Hobbit for each token here.
“‘It is true that if these hobbits understood the danger, they would not dare to go. But they would still wish to go, or wish that they dared, and be shamed and unhappy.’”
•Three Is Company
Condition • Support Area
Tale. Toil 1. To play, spot 3 companions.
When you play this condition, add 3 tokens here.
Response: If a Hobbit is about to exert, remove a token from here to place no token for that exertion.
Fellowship: Discard this condition to remove a burden for each token here.
“‘I have heard of strange doings in this land, but I have seldom heard of a hobbit sleeping out of doors under a tree. Three of them! There’s something mighty queer behind this.’” |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

As you would say, "Yowch!" Imagine this card with Morannon Gates! I would raise the cost to , or and give it toil 1. Cool ideas! |

So now we’ve had one Hobbit staple: stealth. Here’s another, fashioned directly after their OLD-school counterparts. Enjoy!
Southern Star
Possession • Support Area
Pipeweed.
When you play this possession, you may discard a card from hand to draw a card.
“But all accounts agree that Tobold Hornblower of Longbottom in the Southfarthing first grew the true pipe-weed in his gardens in the days of Isengrim the Second, about the year 1070 of Shire-reckoning. The best home-grown still comes from that district....”
Tobacco of the Southfarthing
Possession • Support Area
Pipeweed. To play, spot a Hobbit.
When you play this possession, you may draw a card from the bottom of your draw deck.
“‘How Old Toby came by the plant is not recorded, for to his dying day he would not tell.”
I have a couple pipes to go with these, but I’m having lots of trouble coming up with subtitles and lore. Any good ideas for either (preferrably from the text of Fellowship of the Ring, though certainly not necessary) for Frodo’s Pipe and/or Sam’s Pipe? s to the authors of any suggested subtitles/lore I end up going with. |
