DáinIronfoot wrote: Alright, made some tweaks. Thanks, gentlemen.
Now, finally, some NEW Balrog cards. Enjoy!
![1](images/smiles/1-twilight.gif) • Shadow and Flame
Condition • Support Area
To play, spot a ![Moria](images/smiles/moria.gif) card.
Each time the Free Peoples player draws a card (except during the fellowship or regroup phase), you may reveal The Balrog from your hand to make the Free Peoples player add ![2](images/smiles/2-twilight.gif) or a burden. Limit once per phase.
“‘You fear to go into those mines. The dwarves delved too greedily and too deep. You know what they awoke in the darkness of Khazad-dûm....’”
Hmm limited usefulness make it cost .
Most Deadly Bane
Event • Shadow
Play The Balrog to exert X companions, where X is the number of Free Peoples races you can spot.
“‘Ai! ai! A Balrog! A Balrog is come!’”
Specify from hand for clarity, but cool.

Further tweaked. Thanks!
The following card was one of my entries in lem0n’s contest, but recieved only ONE vote at all, so I’m worried it’s not very good. Let me know if I’m right...or wrong. Enjoy!
•Beyond Any of You
Condition • Support Area
Toil 1. To play, spot The Balrog.
Skirmish: Exert The Balrog twice to discard a weapon borne by a companion it is skirmishing.
Skirmish: Exert The Balrog twice to make a companion it is skirmishing strength -2 and resistance -1. Limit once per skirmish.

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

Good stuff. *sigh of relief* Okay then, here’s some Wizard-hate. Enjoy!
Counter-Spell
Event • Response
Spell.
If a spell is played, exert The Balrog to cancel all effects of that spell and return it to its owner’s hand. You may remove to exert a companion of that spell’s culture.
“‘What it was I cannot guess, but I have never felt such a challenge....It nearly broke me. For an instant the door left my control and began to open!’”
Dark Fire (reprint)
Condition
Strength -1
Resistance -1
To play, spot The Balrog.
Plays on a Wizard companion.
Each time the fellowship moves, bearer must exert.
“‘What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.’”
With the lack of auto-linking now, you may not be able to tell that Dark Fire is a reprint. The original had a -2 strength modifier (and no resistance reduction) and worked only for Gandalf. I figured this was a good replacement without really being a replacement. ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Id stick with it targeting gandalf in true re print style as its not true to the story if it plays on radagast.

Good, but too limited to actually see any use. If it was event and the second bit was for spell, that would be nice.

Bearer should be any companion, or it isn’t worth the deck space. Make the last bit ’If bearer is a Wizard...’
