1 Glittered White in Answer Gandalf
Event • Skirmish
Spell.
If Gandalf bears a staff or hand weapon, exert him to discard a weapon borne by a minion Gandalf is skirmishing.
“There was a ringing clash and a stab of white fire.”

I would drop the cost to 0.

I thought about that, but with similar cards like Roll of Thunder and Turn of the Tide in mind, I was worried that 0 and an exertion (or 1 and no exertion) would be too cheap. I dunno...with those other cards in mind, what do you think? Still okay to do 0 and exert?

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

Okay, then. Done!

Here’s a couple more spells that don’t work with the new staff, but are pretty powerful on their own. Enjoy!

1 White Fire Gandalf
Event • Regroup
Spell.
Exert Gandalf twice to wound a minion X times, where X is Gandalf’s vitality.
“A blinding sheet of white flame sprang up. The bridge cracked. Right at the Balrog’s feet it broke....”

3Hold the Narrow Way Gandalf
Condition • Support Area
Spell. Play this condition only during the assignment phase.
Gandalf is defender +X (limit +3), where X is the number of threats you can spot.
At the start of the regroup phase, remove X threats, where X is Gandalf’s vitality; if you cannot, add 2 burdens instead. Discard Gandalf and this condition.
“But Gandalf stood firm. ‘You cannot pass,’ he said. The orcs stood still, and a dead silence fell.”

The order of the regroup actions needs to be switched. Once Gandalf is discarded, he has no vitality.
Other than that, I love this card!

Thanks, Eomer. GP I wasn’t too sure about the wording myself, and now that it’s switched, it does look MUCH better.

I’d make it defender +1 for every 2 threats you can spot, but i still like it.

Do you have to discard Gandalf no matter what? It’s slightly confusing to me.

Thanks for the review, corvus. GP I think I’ll leave Hold The Narrow Way as it is, since everyone else seems to like it as is.

Onward and upward! I’m htting a bit of a mental block with Gandalf, so let’s switch to the other Gandalf Wizard for now, as I have LOTS for him.

Certainly, the best way to start is with the Wizard himself. Enjoy!

4Radagast, Bird-lover Gandalf
Companion • Wizard
Strength: 8
Vitality: 4
Signet: Gandalf
To play, spot an Eagle or 2 Gandalf characters (except Men).
Fellowship: Exert Radagast twice to play an Eagle or Gandalf follower from your draw deck. Limit once per turn.
Maneuver: Exert Radagast and add a threat to make an Eagle strength +2 until the regroup phase.
“‘Radagast is, of course, a worthy Wizard...birds are especially his friends.’”

Not quite as versatile as the version from Lasting Alliances, but this one is awesome with Eagles.

4Radagast, Aiwendil Gandalf
Companion • Wizard
Strength: 8
Vitality: 4
Signet: Elrond
While you can spot another Wizard, each spell’s twilight cost is -1.
Each time an Isengard spell is played, you may add or remove a threat.
“Curumo was obliged to take Aiwendil to please Yavanna wife of Aulë....”

This version might not be what you’d expect from Radagast, but presumably he was a pretty powerful being before he became the nature-loving brown wizard we all know and love from Fellowship of the Ring. And yes, this means that Isengard spells surge back into prominence beginning in The Road Ahead. Twisted Evil

Yes.

Any suggestions on how to make it less confusing? I figured that wording it like all those "discard this conditon" texts would be sufficient....
