Bert, William, and Tom seem a bit strong, for the clumsy trolls that they were. Plus, they should have some drawback (to match the sunlight turning them to stone). Maybe a new keyword, even: Stone (Discard this minion at the start of the regroup phase). |

Skirmish: Exert Bert and spot Tom or William to draw a card.

Last one should be "to prevent that wound", but otherwise this is pretty nifty.

Thanks everyone. GPs when I can.
Now it’s time for a little mirror, and a mysterious one at that. Two things to first note.
1) Riddle in an unloaded keyword.
2) I have made no free peoples cards for the Hobbit.
Teeth and Horses
Event • Maneuver
To play, exert Bilbo (or 2 Hobbits).
Riddle. Choose an opponent and name a number. They must reveal their hand. If that number matches the number of shadow cards revealed, you may heal 2 Dwarves (or a Hobbit twice).
First they champ, / Then they stamp, / Then they stand still.
H1 C 270
Pale Light
Event • Maneuver
Spot Bilbo (or 2 companions) with resistance 5 or more to reveal a shadow player’s hand. You may take the next maneuver action.
’So it is an elvish blade, too,’ he thought; ’and goblins are not very near, and yet not far enough.’
H1 C 266
Mouths of Winds
Event • Maneuver
To play, exert Gollum.
Riddle. Choose an opponent and name a number. They must reveal their hand. If that number matches the number of events revealed, you may add . If it does not, remove
Voiceless it cries, / Wingless flutters...
H1 C 133
Pale Eyes
Event • Maneuver
Exert Gollum to reveal a player’s hand. You may take the next maneuver action.
He was watching Bilbo now from the distance with his pale eyes like telescopes.
H1 C 136
• Gollum, Small and Slimy
Minion
Str: 5
Vit: 4
Sit: 3
Each time a riddle is played, you may make Gollum strength +2 until the regroup phase.
Each time this card is revealed from your hand, you may make a player discard a card from hand.
He was a Gollum - as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes in his thin face.
H1 U 130
That’s all for today. Watch this space for more riddles, as I have 10 to come!

Could be useful, especially if (as I suspect) you have an easy way of pulling riddles. However, it’s VERY powerful in combo with the above card. Maybe do one of them in a different phase.

Agian, I’d do either this or the card above it in different phases. Very powerful otherwise.

I don’t think "Riddle" should be capitalized, much like "tale" is not. But that’s up to you, I suppose. I like both abilities. |

I understand your issue fully, but here’s my argument for why it isn’t too powerful. If you couldn’t ’cheat’ (and cheat reliably), the riddles would just do nothing, and in fact would hurt you (well, the first one would anyway, after that it’d be fine). I think it’s reasonable to have to use 2 cards instead of 1 to reliably get your strategy to work. I’ll think on it though, and thanks for raising it.
In the meantime, I think I’d like some more riddles, these ones with a bit of a twist.
Unhinged Box
Event • Maneuver
To play, spot Bilbo (or 2 Hobbits).
Riddle. Choose an opponent and name a number. Then, reveal the top 5 cards of that player’s draw deck. If the named number matches the number of minions revealed, you may discard a condition. If it does not, that player may play one minion revealed.
Yet golden treasure inside is hid.
H1 C 272
Inquisitive Eyes
Event • Maneuver
Spot Bilbo (or 2 companions) to reveal the top 5 cards of an opponent’s draw deck, and look at the next 3. Replace them in the same order, and you may take the next maneuver action.
Bilbo’s eyes were seldom wrong.
H1 C 261
Empty Holes Filled
Event • Maneuver
To play, spot Gollum
Riddle. Choose an opponent and name a number. Then, reveal the top 5 cards of that player’s draw deck. If the named number matches the number of Free Peoples cards revealed, you may exert a companion. If it does not, heal a companion.
It comes first and follows after / Ends life, kills laughter.
H1 C 129
Watching Silently
Event • Maneuver
Exert Gollum to look at the top 10 cards of a player’s draw deck. Replace them in the same order.
Bilbo could not see him, but he was wondering a lot about Bilbo, for he could see that he was no goblin at all.
H1 C 145
Left Behind
Event • Fellowship
Spot a companion to take a Riddle into hand from your draw deck (or from a condition).
When Bilbo opened his eyes, he wondered if he had; for it was just as dark as with them shut.
H1 C 262
Spoiling cards is so much fun!
