I’d really like to play in this tournament but a stardard type tournament: one format for all games (block, movie block, expanded or standard) and that’s it. Each player comes up with one deck to play the whole tournament and the games are scheduled. I think it’s a lot more fun than having to make thousands of decks. |
If you have a MW Éomer, Horsemaster, please let me know what you want for it |

When we do it in Iraq, it's called progress. When we do it here in the US, it's called socialism.

Add me to the list that agrees with LeoKula.
But the problem that really needs to be dealt with is the whole hosting situation. I don’t know how we could get through a whole tournament when so many people can’t host. Is there any way that one person can host a game while 2 others play it? |

I don’t think this is possible Shieldmaiden...
In my case, at first I can’t host because of my wireless router settings, but I guess I could change it to play a game and then set it back.
I think that people that want to play could make an effort to try and host because anyway we’ll certanly get to matches where none of the players can host, and that’d be a problem.
How about that other game LackeyCCG? Anybody knows if it has more advanced settings for the ones who can’t host at SDA? |

Yes, it would probably be best to try another program. I’ve never tried Lackey myself. I’ve heard that it’s made for many different games, so it has a lot of unneeded extras. But I don’t know for myself. I suppose I could check it out. |

I know I shouldn’t be barging in, and that you all hate Magic, but every now and then, they have a neat idea, so I’ll share one I saw with you guys. First, of course, you’d need to work on the hosting thing, but once that’s done, there’s a format in a annual MtG tournament called: "Auctions of the People" (which kind of evokes "Free Peoples", so it’s neat to relate it to LotR). Instead of just playing with the same decks you always do, this format consists in a general idea, for instance:
Movie Block, necessarily featuring ONE COPY only of:
- Cave Troll of Moria
- The Balrog
- Watcher in the Water
- Lurtz
- Saruman
etc. The latest format they suggested was that each deck had to have 26 singles, each starting with one letter of the english alphabet. So, you get the general idea, which is: go crazy.
Then, each person gets to suggest a decklist (which should be well thought, etc), and they’re voted on to get a number of lists equal to the number of contestants +1. Then, each decklist is auctioned, with contestants bidding cards in opening hand, and, in case of LotR, starting burdens and threats, for instance (or number of moves, or anything in-between), to try and get the best deck possible. It’s really fun! Or, you could just play Open... |
I don't like YOU. |
