Well now we’re really going to start moving away from Last Alliance stuff, but we’re far from finished with the culture. For example, we haven’t even gotten to a certain shipwright...until now. Enjoy!
 • Círdan, Keeper of the Grey Havens
Ally • Elf
Strength: 7
Vitality: 4
Resistance: 8
To play, spot 2 Elves (or an companion).
Fellowship: Exert Círdan to make each Elf whose twilight cost is 3 or above strength +1 until the regroup phase.
Maneuver or Regroup: Exert Círdan twice to play an event from your discard pile.
“‘But as for me, my heart is with the Sea, and I will dwell by the grey shores, guarding the Havens until the last ship sails.’”
An ally with resistance? Why not? I’ve posted allies with signets, and people didn’t seem to have a problem with that. (Now you watch...everyone that reviews will tell me both are a horrible idea. )
Nice, but he needs a home site, doesn’t he? And maybe, just maybe, I’d limit his fellowship ability to once per phase.
Narya, Ruby Ring
Artifact • Ring
Vitality +1
Bearer must be Círdan or Gandalf.
Maneuver: Exert bearer twice to heal each other exhausted companion and ally (twice if that character has the Gandalf signet). Discard this artifact.
Skirmish: If bearer is Gandalf, exert him twice to play a spell from your draw deck.
“‘Great labours and perils lie before you, and lest your task prove too great and wearisome, take this Ring for your aid and comfort....I deem that in days ere long to come it should be in nobler hands than mine, that may wield it for the kindling of all hearts to courage.’”
No problems here. Very good. [/b] |

Thanks, Eomer! for your first review in the thread (and one for CG as well, soon as I can muster it...almost missed that you reviewed the last Duo, man!). I’ve been hoping I’d be able to get your attention, Eomer. You seem to know your stuff.
I don’t think he does need a home site, actually. All this means (I think) is that he can A.) never skirmish, since he has no home site to skirmish at, and B.) not be spotted as an ally with a particular home site.
I’ll hold off on changing the fellowship ability until I see another review. I’m inclined to agree with you (or perhaps change it to exerting twice?), but I’ll wait and see what somebody else has to say. |

I’ve been looking over your DC’s for a while, actually... I really admire them (which, ironically, is one of the reasons I haven’t reviewed until now.) Keep up the good work! |

really i think it might make more sense if for THIS set it could only be borne by cirdan. but that would kinda mess up the DC. |

Oh, Dain, just had a thought about the whole home site thing. The allies from RotK and Tom Bombadil had home sites, even though they could never skirmish at them. It appears to be Decipher’s policy that every ally have a home site, whether they can fight there or not. |

Well... I don’t like it so much. It doesn’t have any way to heal (something a major costing ally needs), and the maneuver/regroup ability isn’t that useful. If it was Achery/Skirmish, I’d jump for joy. But that’s your decision.

This card seems more centered. It has an ability just for him, and has high exerting costs. Since each version of Cirdan so far needs to exert to use his ability, I can’t see this being used much with Cirdan. Maybe find some way to remedy that? |

Hmmm. I’ll see what I can come up with, and I’ll do so before I post more cards.
Thanks for the review! |

Okay. I made a small change to Círdan’s second ability based on a good suggestion by SoP. But the biggest change is in Narya. There was some serious incentive to play it on Gandalf before, and that’s still there...but now there’s VERY good reason to play it on Círdan, too.
How are the cards now? |
