Has someone not submitted their DC, or has AC broken his word by a few hours? Razz

Sorry. I was playing cards with my brother for his birthday today, and I was at church at noon, and then I went out to lunch and played more games and played football outside and lots more random stuff. But here are the DCs now:

A) (NBarden)

8 Suicidal Uruk Uruk-hai
Minion • Uruk-Hai
Strength: 10
Vitality: 4
Site Number: 4
Berserker. Enduring
This minion is damage +1 for each wound on each character in his skirmish.

2 •Uruk Battle Madness Uruk-hai
Condition • Support Area
Each berserker is strength +1 for each wound on that berserker.
Assignment: Discard this condition to assign a berserker to skirmish a companion. The Free Peoples player may exert that berserker twice to prevent this.

B) (Anonymous Prodigy)

8 • Berserker Captain Uruk-hai
Minion • Uruk-hai
Strength: 13
Vitality: 3
Site Number: 5
Berserker. Damage +1. Enduring. Fierce.
Each time a companion takes a wound in a skirmish involving a berserker minion, exert a companion or add 1.

2 Berserker Longsword Uruk-hai
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be an Uruk-hai Uruk-hai.
Bearer gains berserker.
Skirmish: Remove 2 to make bearer strength +1 for each wound on a companion bearer is skirmishing (limit +3).

C) (Aragorn, King in Exile)

3 Uruk Vangaurd Uruk-hai
Minion - Uruk
Strength 8
Vitality 2
Site 5
Damage +1.Beserker(This minion is stength +1 for each wound on the character he is skirmishing.)
Each time this minion wins a skirmish, you may exert him to exert a companion.
U

1 Beserker Sword Uruk-hai
Possession
Bearer must be a Uruk-hai minion.
When you play this possession, you may exert a companion.
If bearer is a Beserker, each companion skirmishing it is strength -1 for each wound on that companion.
U

D) (BattleWarg)

3 Raging Uruk Uruk-hai
Minion • Uruk-hai
8 Strength
3 Vitality
5 Site Number
Berserker.
Each time this minion would exert, you may wound it instead.
"At once there was a great jostling and cursing..."

7 •Berserk Training Uruk-hai
Condition • Support Area
Toil 2.
Each time a berserker takes a wound, place an Uruk-hai token on Berserk Training.
Skirmish: Remove an Uruk-hai token from Berserk Training to make a berserker strength +2.
"’We do not stop the fight for night or day, for fair weather or storm. We come to kill, by sun or moon.’"

Designer Notes
My original idea for berserkers were to have them be stronger the lower their vitality was at (something like "This minion is strength -X, where X is its vitality").
But I felt that was a very limited theme, so expanded it further to get that a berserker fought, ignoring their own wounds, focused only on defeating their opponent.

So, what would work? They like to be wounded. I feel these cards feature that theme - Raging Uruk is a fairly basic minion, except that he can exert himself to death (not literally, but effectively). He can also use effects such as Bred for Battle to trigger effects when he is wounded.

But, I felt that an effect that he can trigger should also be shown. Which brings Berserk Training into play.
A fairly high cost, as it can be splashed (which I feel is another thing that makes sense). Berserker could cross cultures, but not characters. A non-berserker will have a hard time benefiting from the berserker culture, but it doesn’t matter if it’s an Uruk-hai, Dunland, Isengard, Sauron or other culture berserker, the basic idea is the same.
With other similar effects, Raging Uruk can wound itself for the toil, and then when in play, berserkers can use previous battles to push themselves into a wilder frenzy.

Using the Bred for Battle example, with both in play, for a single wound, it can give Raging Uruk a +5 strength pump, or +3 for Raging Uruk and +2 for another berserker.

E) (thonnas7)

6 •Elite of Orthanc Uruk-hai
Minion • Uruk-hai
Strength: 12
Vitality: 3
Site Number: 5
Damage +1. Berserker.
While you can spot 2 followers, this minion is damage +1.
Regroup: Exert Elite or Orthanc twice to add 2 threats or prevent the fellowship from moving again this turn. The free peoples player may discard his or her hand to prevent this.
Rare

1 Uruk Broadsword Uruk-hai
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength: +1
Vitality: +1
Bearer must be an Uruk-hai Uruk-hai. Bearer gains Berseker.
Skirmish: Exert bearer to discard a follower borne by a companion bearing is skirmishing.
Uncommon

F) (sickofpalantirs)

5 Uruk Berserk Uruk-hai
Minion • Uruk-hai
Strength • 10
Vitality • 3
Site Number • 5
Damage +1, Enduring, Berserker
When you play this minion, you may spot an Uruk-hai token to wound it. Skirmish : Heal this Minion twice to wound a companion it is skirmishing.

7 •Berserk Uruk-hai, Insane with Fury Uruk-hai
Strength 14
Vitality 4
Site Number 5
Damage +1, Enduring, Berserker
To play, Spot a Uruk-hai engine,(or 2 uruk-hai).
Archery :Exert this minion to reinforce 2 Uruk-hai tokens (limit 1).
Skirmish : Heal this Minion three times to discard a companion it is skirmishing.

G) (DáinIronfoot)

4 Berserk Brute Uruk-hai
Minion • Uruk-hai
Strength: 9
Vitality: 2
Site: 5
Berserker. Damage +1. Hunter 1.
This minion is strength +1 for each wound on a character in its skirmish.
While exhausted, this minion is fierce.
Incited into a mad rage, berserkers are thrown at the enemy and carve a foothold for the army.

6Battle-Scarred Berserker Uruk-hai
Minion • Uruk-hai
Strength: 11
Vitality: 2
Site: 5
Berserker. Damage +1. Hunter 2.
Battle-Scarred Berserker is strength +1 for each wound on each character in its skirmish.
While exhausted, Battle-Scarred Berserker is fierce.
Regroup: Discard Battle-Scarred Berserker to wound X companions, where X is the number of Free Peoples cultures you spot over 2.
Few of Saruman’s berserkers survive to become veterans. Those that do are incredibly deadly warriors.

Designer Notes:
Alright, for my berserkers, I tried to combine the old ([Isengard Berserkers that got strength boosts by spotting wounds in their skirmish) with the new (Merciless Berserker and White Hand Berserker, with high strength/low vitality and rainbow fellowship hate). Added in fierceness when wounded and a splash of hunter, which I think is pretty appropriate, and voila. Simple is sometimes best, and this is one such case where it’s called for, in my opinion.

H) (elf lvr)

5 Uruk-Hai Stormer [Uruk-Hai]
Minion * Uruk-Hai
Strength: 9
Vitality: 3
Site: 5
Berserker. Enduring. Damage +1.
Assignment: Exert this minion to assign it to an unbound companion. If you cannot spot 4 free peoples cultures, the free peoples player may exert that companion to prevent this.
The berserkers of Saruman’s army mowed down entire ranks of solders with just a few swings.

1 *Rage Against All Things Uruk-hai
Condition * Support Area
While you can spot 3 free peoples cultures, each Berserker is damage+1.
Assignment: Discard this condition to assign a minion to an unbound companion. That companion may exert to prevent this.
Uruks raged against elves, and they raged against men. They raged against stone, and they raged against earth. They raged against their enemy, and they even raged against each other. But mostly, they just raged.

Designer Notes
One theme I’d like to start going with berserkers is assigning to companions. A few cultures have had this strategy, and I think it would give berserkers the "bite" they need.

I also like enduring minions with self-exerting abilities (or cards that exert them).

Oh, yeah, and multiculture hate.

I) (AnxiousChieftain)

5 Berserk Rampager Uruk-hai
Minion • Uruk-hai
Strength: 11
Vitality: 3
Site Number: 5
Berserker. Damage +1.
Each time Berserk Rampager wins a skirmish, you may spot another Uruk-hai card to add 2 threats.

0 •Berserker Bloodlust Uruk-hai
Condition • Support Area
While you can spot 4 threats, each berserker is enduring.
Regroup: Discard a berserker to add 2 threats. Discard this condition.

Designer Notes:
I wanted the Berserkers to be threatening, and maybe include some enduring stuff too. The Uruk-hai culture does not have a threat strategy yet, so this would be something new for them.

So just vote for your favorite set of cards (besides your own), keeping in mind that the winning group will be the base for the entire Berserker strategy.

Voting ends on Saturday.

Both AC’s and Dain’s stuff is AMAZING!

I think I will have to go with Dain’s though because I think his theme captured the nature of the Uruk-Hai Berserkers more effectivly than ACs.

Awesome job, guys! Wink

Alright, let’s see here...

Keeping in consideration that this is also voting for what strategy for bersserkers, not just the cards...

NBarden: Seems to be going for the fairly standard fighting boost per wound. I do like the damage bonus boost, rather than a base damage bonus. And Uruk Battle Madness making the opponent exert the minion? Very interesting.

AP: Strength boost based on opponent’s wounds? I think the four keywords might be a bit much in addition to the game text. The cost seems really high as well, for that minion (along with NBarden’s, now that I notice it). The Longsword is really good, though.

Akie: Other than the fact berserker is supposed to be unloaded, I like your cards. Seems very similar to AP’s strategy, though.

Thonnas: Anti-follower? Very interesting concept, original, so bonus points there. I’m not quite sure how well it makes sense for berserkers. The cards are really well done. Minor mistake on Uruk Broadsword (borne by a companion bearer isskirmishing.) But really well done. Designer notes would have been a plus, but even without, it’s good.

SoP: Healing (like enduring Nazgul)? Not bad, although I’m not sure how much sense it makes... Berserk Uruk-hai’s archery ability will need to be rephrased. The skirmish abilities seem really powerful, and may be too strong.

Dain: First off, I’m going to suggest we use your cards names no matter whose idea is used. I like the use of hunter and the interesting combination they can make with the old warg-riders. And it combines well with the Isengardan minions well. Very well done, and the designer notes help.

EL: I do like the assigning berserkers. The anti-rainbow fellowship abilities are useful too (although I don’t really like it, it’s simple enough and fairly simple to implement).

AC: Good points, threats are also a simple method that should work. I’m not sure if Berserk Rampager should have its ability limited a little beyond any Uruk-hai card, but otherwise they look good.

So, the ones I particularly like are: Thonnas, Dain, EL and AC...

As for a specific one, though... I’m going to have to go with elf lvr.

Make sure you use the unloaded keyword berserker

Sorry, Akie... Also, for whatever reason, the cards that have used text similar to that have said ’for each character he is skirmishing’. The abilities, however, are solid enough and the cards could fit well into most of the strategies given, I think.

Yeah, I guess that’s to be expected when you’re new. Oh well.
