How about like this
•Hold the Narrow Way
Condition • Support Area
Spell. Play this condition only during the assignment phase.
Gandalf is defender +X (limit +3), where X is the number of threats you can spot.
At the start of the regroup phase, remove Y threats, where Y is Gandalf’s vitality; if you cannot, add 2 burdens instead. Then discard Gandalf and this condition.
“But Gandalf stood firm. ‘You cannot pass,’ he said. The orcs stood still, and a dead silence fell.” |

Hmmm. Is that clearer, EL?
And any comments on Radagast, anyone? I know all the T&D spoilers have grabbed everyone’s attention, but.... |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

They’re both good... (The Radagasts)...
I would’ve commented earlier, but I really didn’t have anything constructive to say about them; just "They look great."
I like the idea of having Radagast work off of Isengard cards. |
Never kid about politicians. The more bizarre the joke, the more likely it is to come true. |

Cool. Thanks, Drake.
I made a change to the first Radagast anyway. I figured he might be a little cooler if he worked with followers, too. |

To play, spot an Eagle or 2 characters (except Men).
Fellowship: Exert Radagast twice to play an Eagle or follower from your draw deck. Limit once per turn.
Maneuver: Exert Radagast and add a threat to make an Eagle strength +2 until the regroup phase.
“‘Radagast is, of course, a worthy Wizard...birds are especially his friends.’”
Nifty!

While you can spot another Wizard, each spell’s twilight cost is -1.
Each time an spell is played, you may add or remove a threat.
“Curumo was obliged to take Aiwendil to please Yavanna wife of Aulë....”
Awesome! |

Okay, two reviews with full , so let’s post some of Radagast’s "stuff". I know they’re not culture cards, but since Radagast has so many close connections to Mirkwood (especially in the previous set, Lasting Alliances), I figured his gear--and a couple of his support cards you’ll see later--should be of the culture. If you think that’s a bad idea, just let me know. I’m not opposed to changing it.
•Radagast’s Staff, Wand of the Wood
Artifact • Staff
Strength +1
Vitality +1
Bearer must be Radagast.
Response: If a Tree or Eagle is about to take a wound, exert Radagast twice to prevent that wound.
Response: If a companion skirmishing a Tree, Spider, or Creature is about to take a wound, exert Radagast and add to prevent that.
The second ability might seem pretty useless, since there’s only been one Spider minion and a small handful of Creatures (the Watcher in the Water and tentacles) to date, all Trees are FP cards. But the Watcher (and tentacles) appear again in this set, Spiders appear in large numbers in Lasting Alliances, and Tree minions appear starting in this set as well. So this could actually be HUGE.
•Narothal, Radagast’s Mount
Possession • Mount
Strength +1
Resistance +1
Bearer must be a Wizard or Elf.
If bearer is Radagast, each time the fellowship moves, you may discard 2 cards (or 1 or card) from hand to remove a threat.
“‘His dappled grey horse was standing by. When he saw me he lept to his feet. It was Radagast my cousin....’”
The resistance boost was a last-minute addition, as was the Elf bearer allowance. But I figured neither could hurt, especially since a number of Elves appear in this set...and there are LOTS of Elves in the previous set, as reviewers of the Duos surely remember. |

I’m not that fond on the subtitle. Seems more HPish than LotRish to me. *shrugs* I like the rest though.

I really like this card, but I think the ability is too easy. Maybe make it two cards, since at one time you almost always have one card you don’t and won’t need. |

I know. I was reaching a bit. Any better ideas? I’m very open to any suggestions.

Done, with a slight twist. Better now?

Seems... okay. Not outstanding, though. I’d have to see how powerful those minions are to say whether or not I’d use this card.
