A little off on the wording. Just make it a response event that says: "If your Dragon wins a skirmish..." That’d be much better.

I almost did that, but I wanted it to have a LITTLE risk to it. This gives the FP player a chance to pump up and prevent their weapons from being discarded by actually WINNING the skirmish.

Awesome cards, though has there ever been a time when they weren’t amazing? Wink

You guys. Laughing I just make DCs. Sometimes I make a good one or two. So do lots of people. Oy. Ya’ll are gonna make me blush. Embarassed

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

I hate to sound so desperate, but I’d really like to post #99 and get ready to celebrate #100....

Just one more review? Pretty please?

One more review, coming right up!

I thought about holding off on any more cards until tomorrow, but I decided that one more Duo today would mean we’re that much closer to #100. Very Happy

By the way, we’re almost done with Smaug already. Two more Duos (including the one below) and we’re through. That was fast, huh?

Dáin’s DC Duos #98

1 Dragon-fire Orc
Condition
Bearer must be a Dragon. Limit 1 per bearer.
Bearer is an archer.
Archery: Exert bearer and discard this condition to make the minion archery total +2.
“Soon he would set all the shoreland woods ablaze and wither every field and pasture.”
Wow. Pretty powerful. But no complains.

I see where you were going with this, and I think it works fine the way it is.
Happy Hunting! Elf Lvr

Thanks, guys. GP for each of you as soon as I’m able. Very Happy

Dáin’s DC Duos #99

Well that was a whirlwind. This marks the end of our Smaug cards. That was fast, huh?

0 No Longer Secret Orc
Event • Maneuver
Exert Smaug twice (or once if the current site is at a mountain or battleground site) to replace the fellowship’s current site with a site from your adventure deck. If the fellowship’s current site has a printed site number, you may only play a site with the same site number.
“‘Old Smaug had lived there long enough now to find out anything there is to know about those caves.’”

I know the wording is very complicated, but I didn’t know any other way to make sure this worked with both the pre-Shadows (numbered) sitepaths and the post-Shadows (unnumbered) sitepaths. Any suggestions?

0 Forgive Me, And My Pride Orc
Event • Response
If the Ring-bearer is about to take a wound, exert 2 Orc or Sauron minions (or exert an Orc or Sauron minion twice) to prevent that wound and make him or her put on The One Ring until the regroup phase.
“Isildur turned west, and drawing up the Ring that hung in a wallet from a fine chain about his neck, he set it upon his finger with a cry of pain, and was never seen again by any eye upon Middle-earth.”

I know this is not strictly a Smaug card...in fact, it could be argued this works better with cheaper Orc (or Sauron) minions. But it was suggested I make a card that paired with Dragon-spell, forcing the Ring-bearer to put on the Ring and trigger the spell for a wicked one-two punch.

Also, consider this an easy teaser for what I’m doing with Orc Orcs in Lasting Alliances: they’re be the Orcs from around the time of the Last Alliance of Elves and Men and the Disaster of the Gladden Fields shortly afterward. Much of Gondor will be focused on the same time and events.

For now, though, it’s time for Moria...and our grand kick-off of Duo #100. Stay tuned! Very Happy

boy that wording is tough. I can’t figure out how to accommodate both.
