I thought that myself at first, SoP, but it’s grown on me.
Think about it. The now-tweaked Narya is no better for Gandalf. For Círdan, it heals him a lot, yes, but the only real ability the ring gives him would result in him being left exerted twice and with no ring, since you have to discard it.
I think that, though it has a lot of text, it’s comperable to other versions of Narya, since only two of those three abilities will ever be available at the same time. |
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones
Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

Dáin’s DC Duos #149
Time for another Elven lord and his ring. Can you guess who it might be?
Yep! Elrond gets 2 versions in Lasting Alliances. The first version, Vice-regent of Eriador, was a bit of a brawler. This version harkens back to FotR/TTT block days. Enjoy!
•Elrond, Master of the Last Homely House
Ally • Home 3 [LA] & 3 [FotR] • Elf
Strength: 8
Vitality: 4
To play, spot 3 Elves (or 2 characters with the Elrond signet).
At the start of each turn, you may heal a Free Peoples character (or 2 characters with the Elrond or Gandalf signet).
Fellowship: Exert Elrond twice, spot X Free Peoples races, and add (X) to draw X cards.
“He was as noble and as fair in face as an elf-lord, as strong as a warrior, as wise as a wizard, as venerable as a king of many dwarves, and as kind as summer.”
Vilya, Mightiest of The Three
Artifact • Ring
Vitality +1
Resistance +1
Bearer must be Gil-galad or Elrond.
At the start of each turn, spot less than 3 threats to heal bearer.
Fellowship: Discard this artifact to play an ring from your draw deck or discard pile.
Regroup: Exert bearer twice (or discard this artifact) to heal another companion (twice if that companion has the Elrond signet).
“Therefore ere the Third Age was ended the Elves perceived that the Ring of Sapphire was with Elrond, in the fair valley of Rivendell, upon whose house the stars of heaven most brightly shone....” |

I like the card, but I think there should be one change to his text. "At the start of each turn, you may heal up to 2 Free Peoples characters."

Same as above on the second line. Also, I think that either the first of the second phase ability should require the ring to be discarded. Too powerful, otherwise. |

I would make the spotting ability 3 Elves. Cool card!

I would drop the self-healing part, but a neat card! |
I had to put something here. |

Reviews on the updated cards in Duo #149 are still appreciated, but I want to get some more cards up before it gets much later. So here we go!
Dáin’s DC Duos #150
Wow, 150. These are FLYING by. I don’t think I ever hit 150 with my original run of Duos on Decipher’s boards.
Okay, we’ll celebrate this milestone with one of the most powerful signet cards in all of my sets, as well as another condition that can benefit from it. Enjoy!
•Master of the House
Condition • Support Area
Tale. To play, exert Elrond.
Each companion gains the Elrond signet.
At the start of each maneuver phase, you may exert Elrond to make each character with the Elrond signet strength +1 until the regroup phase.
“‘In those days of our tale there were still some people who had both elves and heroes of the North for ancestors, and Elrond the master of the house was their chief.’”
•His House Was Perfect
Condition • Support Area
If the fellowship is at a sanctuary, each time a minion is played you may exert an Elf with the Elrond signet or an ally whose home is that site to wound that minion (twice if that minion is an Orc or Uruk-hai).
“Evil things did not come into that valley.” |

No. Definitely not. This card says "ABUSE ME! ABUSE ME!: all over it. Way to powerful.

Opposite. Make it a sanctuary, if the fellowship is at a sacntuary. |
