Dáin’s DC Duos #168
Well, I guess that’s it for reviews on the last couple Orc-related cards, so let’s switch back to Nazgûl for a little bit. Enjoy!
•Úlairë Attëa, Servant of the Shadow
Minion • Nazgûl
Strength: 12
Vitality: 3
Site: 3
Tracker. Fierce. Hunter 1.
Regroup: Exert Úlairë Attëa and spot your minion (except a Spider) to return that minion to your hand.
“For the Dark Lord had foreseen it, and he had long prepared all his movements; and the Úlairi, his Nine Servants, had gone before him to make ready for his coming.”
I know the idea of doing Attëa when I already have Khamûl was frowned upon by some, but I had some trouble thinking of what other Nazgûl to put in the culture once I decided to do more than the original three. I had planned on still having a little of Attëa in my sets anyway, even with several versions of the new Khamûl, so I figured that I may as well start early...in this first set. Hope you like him. I something new with him and the next Nazzie: they keep the hunter the other Nazgûl had, but they gain tracker.
•Úlairë Toldëa, Servant of the Shadow
Minion • Nazgûl
Strength: 11
Vitality: 3
Site: 3
Tracker. Fierce. Hunter 2.
Each time a Nazgûl wins a skirmish, you may remove 2 threats to add a burden (or 2 burdens if that Nazgûl is Úlairë Toldëa).
“...the servants of Dol Guldur were searching all the ways of the River in that region.”
...and with this guy, Nazgûl become even MORE dangerous. Mwaha. |

The card’s very nice, except - did you mean it to allow him to take himself back into hand? It seems like it should be "spot another minion..." Just my opinion, though. Maybe that’s what you wanted.

They sure do! I like AC’s suggestion of making him remove 2 threats instead of 1. Otherwise, he’s the new Ulaire Enquea. |

Okay, I changed Toldëa’s ability to 2 threats, as suggested. Thanks!
Dáin’s DC Duos #169
More stuff with the Nazgûl today, introducing an unusual Nazzie (and Sauron) strategy: site control. Enjoy!
His Shadow Grew
Event • Shadow
Exert 3 minions (or 2 minions if those minions are Nazgûl or Sauron) to take control of a site. Then, if you can spot Sauron, you may discard 2 cards from hand to return this event to the top of your draw deck.
“Their own accounts speak...of a shadow that fell on the forest, so that it became darkened and its new name was Mirkwood.”
•Fear of the Úlairi
Condition • Support Area
Each time you play a Nazgûl at a forest or mountain site, you exert that Nazgûl (or spot it if it is a Nazgûl) to add a threat.
Discard this condition if you do not control a site.
“...many deemed that it was wrought by the Ringwraiths....” |
