ok, made some changes, tell me what you think.
i kept the versatility of swift tidings, fixed the wording, upped the cost to (1), and gave it toil.
i took out the threat part, and tweaked the ability of Avian Vassal, so now it works more.
and i revamped Hour of doom by basically combining the ideas of Thran, AP and myself! NB, i know what you mean about the assignment phase being under developed. i agree, but with the new way i did this card, it wouldn’t work very well. i think i did make an assignment phase event earlier i think.
i’ll give out as many gp as i can to you guys, I REALLY appreciate all the reviews, and this expansion is about to take a MAJOR twist with a sub-strategy.
so stay tuned... |

Nice change to the last card but now it needs to say ’until the regroup phase’.

lol, ok, i’ll do that. oh, and i also made The Eagles are Coming unique and the effects are for "every token". since so many people thought it was better that way. |

Swift Tidings

Toil 1.
Fellowship, Maneuver or Regroup: Spot an Eagle and add a threat to reveal the top 5 cards of an opponent’s draw deck.
Remove for each Free Peoples card revealed.
Hmm this seems powerful, but then again might not be useful so ok.
 • Avian Vassal
Companion • Eagle
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 8
To play exert an Eagle (or spot Gwaihir).
Each time the fellowship moves during the regroup phase, you may spot 3 Eagles (or 2 Eagles who are not exhausted) to take a event into hand from your draw deck.
Behind them in long swift lines came all their vassals from the northern mountains, speeding on a gathering wind.
Sweet!
Hour of Doom
Event • Maneuver
Make an Eagle Strength +X until the regroup phase, where X is the number of Eagles you can spot (and defender +1 until the regroup phase, if you can spot Gandalf).

Bloody hell thats good. Id make this cost 3 by far.

Once again, I have nothing new to say except I think Hour of Doom is okay at . Perhaps put a cap of like +4 or +5 on it, though. |

Look at Enraged for ents. That costs 2 and gives +4, but it can be discarded and doesnt give a defender bonus. This has an effect you cant stop and can add defender +1 and more than 4 strength. Its way too good for the cost seeing as its an event. |

Eh, I suppose. I’m just really reluctant to recommend making such an event cost .
Maybe raise it to or and slap a toil 1 on it. That might be a happy medium. |

Possibly Dain, i know 3 is a lot for an event but think, its gonna make an eagle a serious beast, as it can spot itself so auto +1 and youre going to playing 3 or 4 eagles surely in total, so a pump that good to last for the round has to be worth a decent pay off for the shadow seeing as its after the shadow phase. Toil might help. |

Except that Ents get a +4/5 strength and damage +4/5 for free with Boomed and Trumpeted.

True, now they do. At the time it was released it was plus +2 and +2 if you used merry and pippin for 4 or 5 sets. Besides youre not likely to use 5 hobbits ands ents as ur deck are you? here you would easily use 3 or 4 eagles plus potentially more.
But dont get me started on Ents Thran. |
