Alright, so here’s how the votes worked out:

WeyounsLastClone (#13): 14
AgentDrake (#3): 11
sickofpalantirs (#8 ): 8
Dáin Ironfoot (#10): 8
lem0nhead (#6): 6
elf lvr (#12): 6
Thranduil (#9): 5
Shieldmaiden (#7): 4
LeoKula (#11): 3
Anvar (#14): 3
macheteman (#2): 2
AnxiousChieftain (#4): 2
AnonymousProdigy (#1): 0
NBarden (#5): 0

That means that WeyounsLastClone is our winner, and the following card will be put into my Two Towers DC set, The Way Into Mordor:

8The Balrog, Quenched Moria
Minion • Balrog
Strength: 14
Vitality: 5
Site: 5
Fierce.
At the start of the maneuver phase, you may discard all other minions to choose an unbound companion with strength 7 or higher. Until the regroup phase, only that companion can be assigned to skirmishes.
Response: If a player reconciles while the fellowship is at an underground site, return this minion to its owner’s hand.
“‘...but now he was a thing of slime, stronger than a strangling snake.’”

I may make a couple tweaks to the stats (especially since many, myself included, thought it was too cheap), but the text should remain pretty much the same. You’ll have a chance to review any updates I make once I get to the Moria culture in my spoilers. Smile

Congrats to WLC! Applause

Remember that the current challenge, a trio of Sauron cards for my Fellowship of the Ring set, is due next Monday. I only have 2 entries so far, and anyone who does NOT submit by Monday will be eliminated! So don’t miss it! Shame on you
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

Yay, I won! Any changes you’d like to make are probably fine. It’s your set! But I compared it with the Witch-King who is also 14 strength, Fierce. I thought the 1 additional vitality would weigh up against the higher site number (which is 5 instead of regular Balrog’s 4 because it’s after that battle at the bridge, but 4 would work too).

And I don’t see how this Balrog easily kills someone. Only 7 strength is overwhelmed, and he has no damage bonuses.

Yes but the Witch-King doesn’t return to your hand. This is a very powerful ability for any minion, especially something like the Balrog for which you can only have 4 in your deck. I like it, I just think it should cost at least 10.

As noted on Page 6, the deadline is Monday, November 19th. Thumbs Up

Still have entries from only three people. Remember, if you need more time, let me know ahead of time. Otherwise, you’ve got 4 days left!

STILL just three entries. Hmmm. Think

I’m getting the feeling people are going to need more time for this. If that’s the case, then a couple people posting as such here or via PM would lead me to push it back some, so if that’s what people want...?

that or just drop out. I am seriously considering the second. not only do I have nill experience with early sauron orcs and a bunch of apathy due to sickness, desire to watch the iowa state kansas game, desire to play HALO, and desire to do my work. I also need to get cracking on NB’s impossible balrog assignment...which I have a serious case of DC’ers block that hit after I finished the balrog and his whip.

since you have a lot of contestants, I might just drop out. I will think about it and decide tomorrow/late tonight
